With the resounding success of the Nissan R32 GTR, it was time to design a follow up. Lucky for Nissan, the R32 was just the beginning. In this episode, James, Nolan and Joe discuss the underrated R33 and why it deserves more love, the Legendary R34 and all its special editions, and the R35, the car responsible in part for the birth of car KZfaq. Nolan also blows his nose.

Gonna say my favourite is R33, I never really grew up with cars and gran turismo and stuff, came across all the Skylines in video games at the same time and R33 was the one that stuck out to me.

Great podcast as usual, but one little thing I would like to point out was that the nurburgring was made several km shorter so the track that the r33 raced on would have been different than the one featured in rush

@@bretthaynes1921 thank you bro and as of now me being in Canada definitely sounds like it’s easier getting one hence the 15 year rule here compared to the 25 in America but here man all the “importer” companies are up pricing literally auction prices and not admitting that some are selling for 3,500,000 to 4,500,000 yen but rather say there going for double that even tho that I’ve seen them sell for that much :P

6:41 I would like to not necessarily correct but add in some information for additional context. If you google it, and read up on the Nur lap times for the gtr's the R32 is 8:22.38 (In semi-wet and damp conditions) the R33 is 7:59.887 (in dry and ideal conditions) the R34 is 7:52 (in dry and ideal conditions) There is a note on lap times if you search for it where a R32 N1 GTR did a lap in 1994 that was a 7:49 (that was done in Ideal conditions) but did not openly publicize it as the R33 had just come out.

There are two different R31 wagons. The R31 Skyline in Australia with the RB30E, and the HR31 wagon in Japan with the RB20DE.

James is half right on the importation part on R33s. Back in the early 2000's, Motorex (everyone's favorite importer) actually did the proper crash testing and safety fixes to make it federally legal. Even after Motorex shut down, since the crash test data was legitimate, the NHTSA did allow importation of ONLY 1996-June 1998 GTTs and GTRs, but you had to get them conformed by JK Tech (might not be remembering the name properly) in order to get them registered, which was a $10-12k process. But yes, since the early 2000's 96-98 GTTs and GTRs have been eligible (and still are the only ones federally eligible) for importation. Too bad now GTRs are approaching the 55-60k+ range and since they are close to be 25 years old, it makes no sense to conform them any longer.

Dude, the R33 is my favourite, and it was a big hit with the tuning scene. The R34 was good, but it was iterative, unlike the transformation from the R32 to R33. It's a bit overrated really.

I listen to the podcasts on iTunes in my car and the one on Delorean is pretty bad. Can barely hear what Nolan says and you guys sounded like you didn’t want to be there. Worst show of the most enjoyable podcast I listen to
