Just to the north, the biggest consumer of illegal drugs in the world is the United States. That demand fuels violence and corruption across South and Central America.
Our chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay takes a look at the history of the region - and explains why it can be so dangerous.

NRA baby, pro-gun Americans think any regulation and gun control is unconstitutional. They have removed many safeguards on how to vet anyone buying a gun from criminals, wife abusers, e.t.c. To get the guns the use a us citizen to simply go into walmart and purchase 100 guns in one go. The drugs flow from the South and the money and guns flows back to the South.

I’m not a Trumper. But there is a solid argument for a solid border wall. At least as a first step to choke the drug gangs and the human traffickers out of business. The next step of bringing these countries, out of this cycle of gangs is an even harder question.

I will add, that a solid border wall ( in my thinking ) would only be a temporary measure. My hope would be stable governments in all of the America’s, without USA’s interventions.

Mexico and the other countries should legalize all drugs, but only for exports to the USA. Then US should continue exporting their legal weapons and the southern countries export their legal drugs. Everyone would be happy.
