Dozens of world leaders have arrived in Paris for a series of events to mark the centenary of the Armistice. Among them is Donald Trump, whose trip got off to an awkward start after an apparent disagreement with his host President Macron over a suggestion that Europe needs to expand its military capacity.
The US president then cancelled his visit to an American war cemetery citing "bad weather".
Sky's Europe correspondent Mark Stone reports from Paris.

Since the sixties nations and NATO have worked to standardise aircraft, ordnance and ground equipment to achieve interopability in spares and weaponry. Any NATO aircraft can land at a NATO base and be serviced and rearmed regardless of role. I would suggest that Macron was saying what the other nations were praying against and that is Trump going neutral and abandoning NATO for some reason.

There are established protocols which civil servants have spent their lives understanding just to navigate as to ensure governing interest are not violated hence speeches which are censored or scripted. To assume, someone should deny American arms manufacturers billions of dollars, an millions to lobbyist and campaign contributions as result of arms contracts as a result of these supposed threat to European sovereignty, is an interesting one. At least, these supposed declaration of threat made by boogie men is only meant for the population. Who being spurned yet again to romantic fanaticism merely inflates the wallets of industries who exploit delusions.
