Niacinamide has honestly saved my skin. My skin used to be red and inflamed,a lot of pimples both with a white head and under the skin as well as my forehead was covered I mean covered in tiny bumps you couldn’t see unless in the sun and it would get so itchy. My pores were very large and I would get alot of seabum coming out especially on my chin and blackheads. My skin was very dry and acne prone. My skin now is almost perfectly clear with very little texture and no where near as dry. My forehead doesn’t have those bumps either 😁 It’s so interesting to here people don’t have the same affect

The Ordinary makes unscented products, so shouldn't that immediately make it 5 stars? Do you expect them to put fragrance in it to make it smell better? Unscented is always better and preferred. I disagree with your judging of "smell" on these products...
@claudia99721
@claudia99721 2 жыл бұрын
Well, in his defense, he never mentioned that smell would affect the functionality of the products and indicate that good smell would be better. I’m sure he only meant to share with the viewers what kind of smell u would expect when buying this product.
@SusuToTheBone
@SusuToTheBone 2 жыл бұрын
Unscentes isn´t always better. This is a social media myth. Fragrance is very well tested in industry. Some people is allergic, but saying fragrance is always irritant is fearmongering. Also. fragrance is one of the most expensive ingredients, thats the main reason The Ordinary avoids it, to keep the final price of the products low.
@gingersmith2888

@@SusuToTheBone not sure where you get your "facts" from, but they are incorrect. In addition, why would anyone want fragrance in something you put on your face? Especially if you are using several products with different scents.

I have The Ordinary’s brand in my cabinet but since it doesn’t have the hyaluronic acid, I find it a bit irritating so I have to use it with a face cream with HA in it at night. I guess the Niacinamide serum works differently for everyone but it work wonders for me. I noticed that it helps a lot with my skin texture. I also use it whenever I have pimples so that it'll go away faster since it is a bit drying and I have oily skin back then. Though, my skincare is more moisturizing focus now and I don't have much pimple as before, so using the Niacinamide serum is a bit redundant now haha. I still use it if there's pimples on my face though just not as much as before.

Agreed. It’s important that we always take our skin’s feelings into consideration. It helped treat my oily skin and smoothen my skin texture, but I wouldn’t use it as often now that my skin is less oily, just to avoid the irritation

The caffeine eye serum is great at reducing puffiness (I also love putting it all over my face in the morning), but it also made my dark eye circles worse. After trying quite a few other serums by the ordinary (niacinamide [did nothing] hyaluronic acid [meh] retinol 0.5) their buffet showed the best results (in terms of keeping my skin supple & hydrated all day). Instead I’ve turned to Niod’s products, also under Deciem - which are amazing! Their eye contour concentrate & CAIS is a life saver.

Whereas in the general rule (as advised in Korean/Japanese skincare), it's before the moisturizer or is that only applicable on eyecream not eye serums? Lol It's soo confusing! 😂

It's because it's a bit oily, so he suggest to put it after moisturizer so that the moisturizer can still be absorbed. The oil in caffeine solution might makes the moisture from moisturizer absorbed harder so that's why. Btw, the oil in it can help lock in the moisture

It you can't tolerate oil on your face, don't buy The Ordinary Retinol in Squalane (anhydrous solution). You won't enjoy using it, so compliance will be an issue...waste of money. I have dry skin, but when I used a few drops of it, it felt like applying cooking oil. It didn't feel nice at all. I just mixed it with moisturizer and used it at the back of my hands and neck.

Since you are 30 and above, I suggested you to try adding retinol on your skincare routine. Retinol is one the most effective ingredients but it's only for 25 and above. Retinol good for anti aging, pores, scars, ,wrinkles and acne. You only can use it at night and don't forget wear your sunscreen at AM.
