I saw Skynyrd twice. Once back in Jersey on July 13, 1977, at The Asbury Park Convention Hall. The original Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup. Then again, a few years back again in Jersey at the Historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. This was the line up for that show. Both shows were great. Nothing really beats the original line up. I will give Johnny Van Zant lots of credit for following in his big brothers' footsteps and carrying on Ronnie's legacy. But the Lynyrd Skynyrd of today is just a really good cover band. Sorry but the truth hurts. They really need to give it a rest. Lynyrd Skynyrd is dead, it is time to let them all rest in peace. Rename the band whatever, but you guys will never be Skynyrd.
