There are no NPC’s that have a chance of dropping them, there are no merchants (including alchemists) that will ever sell them, regardless of what perks you have. "I'm keen to hear what you're going to use these rare ingredients for." Well, me being the idiot that I am, I will completely forget that they're rare ingredients and eat them for their first alchemical property. I will then proceed to mix said ingredient with other ingredients that don't share its alchemical properties, because I'm too lazy to actually check online. Long story short, unless I remember to watch this video next time I play Skyrim, they will all go to waste. I personally blame Bethesda for my ignorance

You know how when in the alchemy menu and you go into your ingredients list (the one that lists all of them, not the subcategories) that if you choose an ingredient, it will grey out all the ones that don't work together if you've tried them together once before? Even if I have all four effects discovered and can clearly just read that they won't work together or know from past play through that those two things won't yield anything, if its name is still white, gotta put them together.

Just wanted to say, some of these ingredients, such as Emperor's Parasol Moss, can rarely be given to you by your children with the Hearthfire DLC.(It was the first thing Lucia gave me, and I was very confused as to how she went to Solstheim to get it.)

ʙɪʁʙ he just said that the word alchemy derives from the greek language, which is not true at all.

“Alchemy” is from the Greek khemeioa, which was either from Khemia, a name for Egypt meaning “land of black earth,” or the Greek khymatos “that which is poured out.” It was often used as a scientific term until the 1600s when “chemistry” arose from it, leaving “alchemy” with its more mystical sense.

I feel like the Sabercat Eye and both Antlers should be added to the list as they seem to be extremely difficult to acquire, even when actively hunting for them. Then there’s the White Tern Feathers from the Dragonborn DLC which are also insanely rare (I’ve only found one spawn area, which is the Solsthiem Blacksmith’s house. It holds 2)

Shoot the chaurus pods when you find them, they explode. Pods that have hatchlings in them respawn. The pod won't be repaired, the hatchling will be hovering near the pod. This way you have an obvious visual clue as to where your prey is.

First off, YAY, NEW CAMELWORKS VIDEO! Second off: Now THIS is a top 10 list! It doesn't just list! It explains in-depth about all the things on it, compares, tells how to obtain & doesn't just say why the things are on the list! I love your thorough comprehensiveness, Camelworks! By the way, you said "check out the video above" to see how to surf on a hawk, but I have annotations on & I couldn't see a video above! Just the search bar! How do I see the hawk-surfing video?

I'm super late to the party, but if you go to the north coast, between the Brinehammer and Winterhold, there are tons of salmon swimming close to the surface that you can use your shout on from the shore or on some of the small islands. You can quickly get dozens of salmon roe portions. The added bonus is there are also a lot of nordic barnacles in this area.
