I'm seeing a resurgence of more grounded armors and weapons and I'm so glad people still care about realistic style gameplay. Very nice!

It does look nice, but I still prefer the more stylish and fantastical sets, and the skimpy ones are just lovely. Grounded armours and realistic stuff are almost always bland and meh looking. There are exceptions to the rule of course.

@@ikmalkamal5830 to me it's the complete opposite. Skimpy and overdesigned stuff is so popular and always thrown in your face, I mean just look at every other mod showcase KZfaq channel and in the vast majority you will see female characters being barely covered. It's not practical, it doesn't look good to me and it cannot be considered armor. Realistic armor is way better IMO, more immersive (and yes, there are armor mods that use fantasy materials and still look like they would perfectly belong in the real world) and way more believable. As for the weapons, thinner and properly proportioned will always beat clunky, oversized and unreasonably massive. Again, it's my opinion, so I don't expect everyone to share this view, but in the Skyrim modding community the vast majority of content is always skimpy, so realistic stuff is always a breath of fresh air.

@@belladonnaofsadness981 well in that regard I'd say given how accessible Skyrim is compared to the others you mentioned it can give a lot more freedom to interpret everything differently, so while for me a more realistic and serious approach makes more sense to somebody else it's perfectly fine to have high fantasy stuff going on. It's mostly about how different individuals see it. Personally I grew up loving Lord of the Rings, so I very much appreciate fantasy as long as it keeps a somewhat grounded and realistic approach that would make most things (if not all) more plausible. While it's a set theme for Elden Ring and other games, The Elder Scrolls is like a source that is more open to personal interpretation.

Its nice to see that nodding still works after the update, I still won't be updating as some of my mods are no longer receiving updates and I dont think I can play without them anymore

Of course models and textures still work, they simply replace existing models and textures. The problem is mods that actually add content, so SKSE, .esp, .esl files, etc, that get obliterated. Models and textures are inconsequential. Bethesda are really trying to lose their most ardent fanbase by pulling shit like this... all so they can try (and fail) to monetize mods.

That Crash Logger is probably the most useful and a must have for all skyrim modders.

Stayed in 1.5.97 since the first AE update and have not had any issues whatsoever. The occasional one mod a year which doesn't support 1.5.97 inevitably gets a backport patch within a week. If you'd like video suggestions, you may enjoy taking a look at Organic Factions and Organic Factions Extension.

The new BEES mod seems to fix that issue anyway, i have some "must have latest AE update mods" installed on 1.5.9 and it seems to be no issue due to BEES.

Updating is usually fine for smaller or more basic modlists that don't rely on lots of SKSE plugins. There's still a ton of SKSE plugins that never got updated to 1.6.XX and many that got some form of 1.6.XX but not 1.6.640, let alone the latest 1.6.1130. The problem with these updates is that they're completely pointless. Other than the extended ESL record range (which has already being backported) There's literally no reason to update. There's no benefit to it whatsoever. On the contrary, is a hassle to keep track of what needs to be updated in order to keep your modlist working. The only reason to justify an update that breaks so many existing mods is if we ever get an upgraded engine like we did from LE to SE, but that's probably never gonna happen and knowing Bethesda these days, if they did indeed released SKyrim under a "newer" engine, it'll probably would be some unoptimized garbage like Starfield.

If Skyrim keeps getting updates like this, even 10 years past release, I feel like the modding community should just agree on a patch and make all their mods compatible with that patch. Updating/waiting on updates/having to jump through hoops to use certain mods or not use mods cause of lack of upkeep, all these things are a huge pain. My bias says let's just stick to the patch before this update, as 99% of mods are already suited to that patch (including most my mod list), but whichever patch it is the community should come together and dedicate to a single patch.

Originally, the two updates completely broke my mod list. I couldn't interact with anything or search anything up, but I finally managed to solve the problem. Though my game is crashing a bit more often now. Anyhow, now that I've solved the problem (mostly), I'm definitely going to check some of these mods out! Especially the crash log one- I'll need it. I play on Xbox now though, so I'm not sure if these are available on there, but thanks for the list!

Really enjoy your vids and your wit bro! I'm kinda new and may sound silly, but is there a definitive All-in-One base mod or link having all the up-to-date essential mods, patches, and bug fixes that absolutely everyone should have in their load order to start (pre-overhauls and ENBs)? I do realize some need to be downloaded manually; or have at least those found on Nexus? Would b a HUGE timesaver for everyone and yes, I do write things down lol, but things change on whim to everyone's chagrin at times! Would also appreciate links to mods/sites too if possible(?), though i know most are from Nexus lol! Thanks, cheers!

Idk if it's just mod organizer or if I messed something up but Skyrim wont open at all now. Downgrading breaks it and every time I gain the files back I have to redownload the creation club content all over again. Do I have to switch to Vortex now?

NIce cover of some good mods. Thanks mostly for the Trainwreck Crashlogger highlight. That is going to come in very handy. Modders have already demonstrated how to downgrade to v1.6.640 or earlier, so no worries really. #keepmodsfree

@@vennin7781 It was " Comprehensive first person animation overhaul " Esl too if i recall and uses Dar or Oar if i remember as well so no need for Fnis/Nemesis to be ran to make it work.

I really like how different it is on xbox, where you can actually search for the mod on Xbox and it takes you there. I just wish it wouldn't crash, every time it does, when I go back into creations, it doesn't let me search or look at my load order anymore, I haven't been able to play with the mods I want because of this. So sad.

Nah when you’re balls deep in a 300+mod load order heavily immersed, and emotionally invested in a savegame then boom UPDATE. It kinda does ruin it, but I still understand what you’re saying perspective matters.

My problem is not from mods. It's the damn face glitch! Oh and the glowing eyes bug! Stupid Xbox S. No fix for it that can find. No I do not have mods on although I did search for a fix and came up with zero. Transforming into a vamp or wolf doesn't fix it, neither does the face sculpture in rifton. Worse it happens at character creation.

Can someone please help, I am new to modding Skyrim. I downloaded the script extender, but when downloading that or any other mod it causes a weird graphical glitch when moving around. The armor getting used here for the guards is called Sons of Skyrim by NordwarUA. It's my favorite guard armor replacer, honestly. I play on PC, so I have no idea if he's got an Xbox port or not.

I am very happy for you, and I am happy about all these mods, but I have turned skyrim on after the update for the first time and it completly broke my game I tried downgrading and it still didn't work But at least mods and vids like this do give me hope to start from scratch again

@@epicjoeman8685 right click game in library, go to properties, Updates tab in that menu, change automatic updates to "Only update when I launch it" game never updates if you keep launching through SKSE. It's really not that hard.

You have a very different experience than I do. I can not even get SkyUI to work and Bethesda's UI is absolute shit. I went back to playing vanilla 2011 release.
