Skyscrapers 2010 - The World's Tallest Buildings
Third installment of my skyscraper video featuring the tallest buildings in the world, completed and under construction.
Height criteria from CTBUH's first method.
I eventually decided against adopting the Sears Tower's revised name, "Willis Tower". Personal preference.

I use to watch this all the time when i was younger, and now in 2016 most of the buildings here are built. I love this channel ;0; so nastalgic

I remember when I was 5 when I first watched this. I was always into buildings, and now I still am, 10 years later. I'm glad to have seen this video, thank you, Adrian! Also reminiscing about the past while listening to Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and Wings of Gabriel really brought be back lol

@coinpeace Lighthouse Tower (Dubai) looks to be canceled :/ Goldin Finance 117 (aka China 117) seems to commence groundwork. Pentominium is well above ground, rising really fast now! Soil testing is being done at the Kingdom Tower site, but no definite proposal has been put forward. 1100m is the latest number circulating. Tokyo Skytree has reached the first platform at 370m.

Around the time i made the video, skyscraper enthusiast estimated that with changed height rules, 818m would no longer be correct. In the end, they were 4 meters off, if we can trust Emaar's numbers. But you're right, 818m and as of Jan. 2010 828m are the two numbers circulating.

good morning and thanks for getting back to me. justed wanted to tell you again how much my friends and I enjoyed your video, absolutely first rate. have been a skyscraper freak for years and been to the sears tower and manhattan many times including the WTC. cant tell you how much I miss those buildings, there will never be anything like them again. the petronas are amazing in themself but not even close.(and i dont think i will make it to malaysia) have a great day

True. There are many skyscraper videos around with different styles (techno, pop, flashy, slow) and since most viewers only come here once, my intention was simply to "update" it, without reinventing it. For someone who's seen the 2009 one a lot, it would seem somewhat repetitive, can't help it.

The way you present this with after effect is a master piece. the soundtrack the images the size comparision all are just perfect.it would be wonderfull to make something simmilar with other structures for examples airplanes or shipps.

I used the most common height measurement which is CTBUH's first method. It counts spires as structural height, but not antennas. The ESB's tip falls into the latter category, and so does the Willis Tower's. The other buildings you mentioned are not under construction and have a doubtful future.

This video is about habitable buildings, which is a completely different technical challenge. Towers are a category of their own. The CN Tower was completed in 1976, and i happen to have been on it, so don't presume ignorance.

Hi, i did not include any towers in the video, only classic "house" type of buildings. There are many towers that would have made it into this video by their height.

@FlashMaster659 No idea yet. I was thinking about how i could one-up myself with this. There isn't anything that comes to mind, aside from really excessive changes like e.g. 3D representations, which would be near impossible without clean blueprints. What's really fortunate though is that KZfaq now allows 15 minute videos, so i have room to add a few supertalls in the future.

@TheRandomFruitGuy I expected to take longer to finish the update, but since it was finished in November of 2009, i decided to upload it then. The 2009 video already existed, and was uploaded at the end of 2008, very similar. Since i make sure it contains up-to-date information on release, i expect most of it to remain valid into the next year. Another thing is that viewers might be deterred by a video carrying last year's name, even though it's actually a month or two old.

I have been on the roof of the Two International Finace Center, the top of the Jin Mao Tower, and Sears Tower!!! Also can't wait until the Freedom tower opens in New York, and hope we have more luck than the WTC buildings had. GOOD VIDEO!!!

@CapperMeeh It is said to become a restaurant with panoramic view. If they light the roof section as in the concept renders, it's gonna dominate the night skyline of Shenzhen, together with Shun Hing Square. Can't wait to see it finished.

@Kaorankun This video focuses on habitable structures only. Towers, Chimneys, Masts, and such are not included. And you're right, the Skytree should be the tallest in Japan by now at over 450m.

@sid: It has a second, lower entry. The main (front) entry is elevated. It's very likely that it will be measured from the lowest one in the future, hence the slight height increase. Apparently the same happened to the Chicago Trump Tower now, so it would join the ranks, as RNT said.
