In this video, I am going to show you my friend Lawrence’s top end observatory used for deep sky imaging and live stacking using SharpCap. It is set up for results and it really delivers.
Mount: Paramount MyT
Scope: Orion Optics (UK) 10-inch AstroGraph
Observatory: Sky Shed Pod
In fact, I am quite inspired with this set up!
Firstly, we shall see the pros of the Sky Shed Pod, how it works and and how to overcome some of its issues.
Then there is the beauty (and cost!) of a Paramount MyT, the Sky X software and T-Point as it carries a laden 10” telescope with ease.
Finally, the stunning performance of the Orion Optics astrograph - even if did need a quick clean with a spider on the spider!

It's my dream to have a permanent site. I've been asked what my most desired item of astro equipment would be, and a shed/dome is number one. I have a couple of nice scopes but I'd trade them in for somewhere I could put a dome or a roll-off. I'd rather have modest equipment permanently set up than superb equipment that spends most of its time in the garage. Lawrence is living the astro dream!

I think you are right, having everything set up ready to go is fantastic - and even more so when packing up when tired in the small hours. When will you get yours? I passed on your comments to Lawrence, he passes on his regards by reply.

Nice setup. I started last spring planning on building a shed for 2 scopes I have. I also have very bad sky visibility because of trees so I scouted out the best location to get views from then started targeting trees for removal. I removed about 10-12 at least 1 foot diameter trees, most larger, and that pretty much killed my summer! Still have at least 8 more to go but 4 of them I'm going to have to have tree experts take down since they are near power lines. I figured I get the whole shed done last year... yeah right! lol

You should try contacting YT via their twitter feed, I have seen them responding to others, and also have responded to me in the past with queries.

Thanks, Dave. I will give that a try but had better set up a twitter account first - I have resisted for years but clearly need to join the new ways!
