There was no elbow, chris got cornered, ate a right hand to the temple that buzzed him, then ate a left uppercut and left hook that put him down. Elbows tend to leave cuts, and chris had none. Like Roy, his defence on the ropes was terrible and it cost him this fight

This is how to sell a fight. Go right inside the minds & the stakes of the bout. The problem was Chris thinks it was a lucky "perfect" punch. He should be going in there thinking it can happen EVERY time. And become much more defensively responsible. Smith kept a tight guard the whole time giving Chris the respect he deserved as puncher. That was the difference. If he doesn’t learn there is a decent chance of it happening again. I pick Smith for the rematch right now from what I’ve seen.

Groves felt sorry for eubank at the end, eubank was basically on his own v smiths brothers and the entire crowd, i hope eubank wins the rematch and his dad gets involved again, he needs him.

@Lloyd8521 No he wasn't Smith was covering up not worried about Chris's punch power, then waiting for chris to make a mistake then nail him like he did. Smith actually said Chris makes a lot of mistakes in the build up. I like both fighters Liam is the better boxer & ring IQ than Eubank

Interesting fight. I agree with Liam though when he said he can't accept loosing to Chris. Perfect words. Perfect training. Perfect intensity. I was really impressed with Liam. Chris left all dissapointed and shouldn't of blown his own trumpet so hard about his chin. If any fighter was mote than capable of breaking that Perfect chin he once had once opon a time😊 Liam Smith sure did. Hopefully now he will take the fight more seriously and give Liam the respect he deserves👍

Chris needs to get in the gym and bulk up a bit.. some added weight may slow him down a bit but it would put more power behind his punch.. I remember thinking it while watching their first fight.. liam smith is a brilliant boxer and can never be underestimated. You can see in his eyes he has the fighting spirit..

Eubank will be victorious. He was clearly winning the fight and got caught. Not taking anything away from Liam cos he finished the fight well but I think Eubank wins the rematch. Just my opinion ofc.

You can tell Groves sees a bit of himself in Eubank. Both were disliked by the majority because of their hype game and both operated essentially on their own without the entourage circus that follows guys like Froch and the Smiths.

Smith in my view is slight favourite to win the rematch however you cannot rule Eubank out, be interesting to see how he comes back after being dropped and stopped for the 1st time. Those who think Smith will 100% win should bet everything they have on it if they are that sure, easy money. Eubank stoppage or Smith points.

I just wish Chris would be a bit more humble, more honest, less staged, a lot more real. Like admitting smith beat him fair n square. I think underneath the fake exterior, he's probably a decent lad. You come across very very fake Chris, have some humble pie mate, you'll feel better for it! You wasn't dominating the fight, you was edging it, it wasn't a once in a lifetime shot, you didn't recover - your corner were about to throw the towel in, accept you was beaten by the better man.

The Smith family are unbelievable, in 100 years they will still be talked about in boxing. Eubank jnr has a job on his hands. He CANNOT afford to lose. This fight could be one of the greatest fights ever, or it could be an anticlimax with Smith winning inside 8 rounds. I can’t wait.

Eubank was weight drained and took Liam lightly just because he lost to Canelo. The elbow excuse is getting old, Eubank was not answering back to multiple shots in the corner.
