Cole Palmer and Mauricio Pochettino have both reiterated that the Chelsea midfielder is the team's penalty taker after a "daft" spat with Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke.
Chelsea were 4-0 ahead when they were awarded a penalty, given after Abdoulaye Doucoure's clip on Palmer inside the area.
The Blues midfielder had already scored a first-half hat-trick as Chelsea thrashed Everton 6-0, and as the second-half penalty was given, both Madueke and Jackson claimed the spot kick for themselves.

Honestly I thought it was bad watching it live but i saw the whole penalty thing on KZfaq and I was so embarrassed. He saw his teammate on the ground. Didn't even bother to check on him. All he saw was an opportunity to grab the ball while Palmer was down. And he starts shouting at Jackson cos they both wanted it. What the heck 💀.

Jackson is the most team player you will ever see. He works hard for the team, he celebrates every goal as though he scored it. On this occasion he wanted it since Palmer already had a hat-trick . Madueke wanted to be in the scoreboard too. I think Jackson went overboard, yes. But nowhere the level you guys are focusing on.

The manager failed at psg cos he was doing favouritism for some players that's why psg star players played for themselves, Palmer need those 4 players to shine, if those 4 decide to be selfish like him, his career would end instantly, that's why he should be more of a team player

@@andypender You are being irrational or will I say insensitive to the incident! I bet you 99.999% of Chelsea fans, coaches, owners .... Will be happy to have Palmer win the golden boot. He has the opportunity to slug it out with Haaland and you want him to just give in to Jackson or Madueke who has very little to do with the goal. You realize that that goal put him on par with Haaland on 20 goals ? If any of them choose to be selfish then he will be out of the team, on the bench! Absolute nonsense!!

It’s amazing how these people at sky find the time to discuss the penalty decision at length,,I don’t recall in-depth debate when Chelsea had two absolute blatant penalties denied at Liverpool in the league,which would have changed the game entirely,,,,strange that !!!!???

Am I mean imagine having a lad who's converted every spot kick he's taken, not even looked remotely close to not converting any of them either and having the audacity to try and take the ball off him. If the keeper doesn't get sent then it's in the corner of the net flying passed the keeper. He scores plenty from open play too and bags assists.

Golden boot race. Yes. If you’re a Chelsea fan, you’ll remember that 14 years ago, Drogba and Lampard fought over a pk which Lampard ultimately took. Drogba was competing against Rooney for the golden boot. We later got another pk (vs Wigan) and Drogba took it to complete his hat trick. It’s normal. 💙

Can't blame Palmer. He let Sterling take it a few weeks back and probably decided after that farce of a miss that he wouldn't be stepping aside again. Gallagher had sorted it out and gave the ball to Cole, and Jackspn then undermined Gallagher's decision by coming over aggressively so Palmer shoving him away with one hand while focusing on the job at hand was just perfect.
