You don’t have to speak in tongues to supernaturally justify your salvation. These days people seek to have signs like the Jews did which lacked faith. The Bible states that we all receive different gifts and offices of service from GOD for the spreading of His Kingdom. The Bible even uses the analogy of the parts of a human body working together as a whole and not denying other members because they don’t have their gift or are suited to serve GOD in a different area of ministry. Not all things are as they appear on the surface. To want GOD is to desire your next breath. Only those who earnestly seek Him will understand and truly endure this life and live forever with Him.

Oh there was no offense taken. I don't ascribe to a particular doctrinal label for two main reasons. 1. It colors the way others look at you, and thus hold you accountable to what others who have similar beliefs, have said. i.e if I say I'm a Calvinist, then I have to answer for what every other Calvinist has ever said and it keeps people from really listening to what your points are. And 2, it colors the way I see myself. We test the spirits to see if they are of God. That is how we avoid blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The Bereans we're told about Jesus by Paul, an apostle, and no doubt, the Holy Spirit moved their hearts to believe. But they would not believe, until they checked it out with the Bible they had. Paul wasn't angry with them, he was very pleased. And the Holy Spirit who would have been convicting them as Paul spoke, He would have been pleased, too.. After all, He is the one who inspired the words about testing the spirits to see if they are of God. So they were following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, both biblically and experientially. That verse was not in the Bible, yet, but there are other verses which teach the authority of the word. The Holy Spirit inspired the Bible, so that's why we shouldn't be afraid that true discernment will lead to blasphemy of the Spirit. It won't.. letting just any spirits masquerade as God, and not calling them on it and rejecting them, does not honor God. In addition to the thing about spirits saying "Jesus is Lord" in sincerity, the way prophets were tested also helps, because that, too, was testing the spirits. Even if a supposed prophecy came true, if it led people away from the true God to other gods, it was not of God.

Definitely..I received the Holy Spirit when I was 15.. exactly how our Lord Jesus said it would be..He testified of Jesus and I felt His ultimate power and love..I was with a group of friends playing pool and watching a program etc..I was sitting quietly when this blessing happened.. it feels awesome but you have control of yourself..I had another experience whilst driving 3 months ago..surging with the Lord's power yet able to drive..not falling over at all ..I'm 44 now. everything Jesus said and the Bible says is true.. The laughter my brother,is hard to believe because God is not the author of confusion. I'm not a believer in that. Trembling before the Lord's presence,is biblical and even falling out before his presence is biblical, and I believe still happens at times today!! Not all the time but sometimes the word of God,which remember,is the only literally " living word" can definitely knock someone off their feet,especially if it's hitting them in a personal situation or trial!! I am not in agreement, of all the example's of what I see. but I know God is real and he can and will touch you He has touched me and, I have praised the lord, outside of the Church walls all night long. It is a beautiful thing. I love him and would not give nothing for the joy I felt. Try him come to him in sincerity, let him do what he wants to do for you. Do not block whatever he do. I went to a meeting one night and my heart, was not right and the Holy Ghost got a hold of me. I have not been the same since. I did not pre-plan for it to happen, I knew nothing about it. I know now and nobody can tell me or make me believe, that God does not shower his Spirit on you.

I went to a church with friends once, and they said if you've never been slain in the spirit, and want to, come up here. So I did, and I do feel when he put his hand on my forehead, he pushed me. But things happened in my Spirit when I was in the floor. (Having to do with a relative & our difficult relationship). I didn't go back to that church as it was way out of state for me. But it happened unexpectedly at a church 10 minutes away. The pastor came by at altar call & I fell out, wasn't looking for it and people at that church usually didn't). Later at some point, the pastor said the spirit always tells him when someone is going to fall out. Months if not a year or so later, a few people here or there hit the floor when he was nowhere near, the spirit wasn't announcing himself then. Jesus said his disciples would do greater things than he did. "All these and greater will you do".

I've experienced so called slain in spirit and it wasn't the Holy spirit because it produced zero fruit and zero good in my walk with christ in fact at the time I wasn't even a true believer I was a false convert!!!!

We must also have discernment for these days (much of this is the work of demonic spirits). I spent 8 years in deliverance ministry, so I have seen a lot more than most. I have seen many false manifestations and praise God He Himsef has given me a discerning of spirits gift and much of what we see is counterfeit, especially at “conferences”. I know the gifts of the Spirit are active for today. Please do not make assumptions about what people believe, as I did not say that I do not believe in His miraculous power. That was an assumption because I question “slain in the spirit” (mostly because slain in the Bible or always refers to death, not a miraculous anything), and I have seen this false “wonder” manifest so many times I lost count. Ya know.. the part about people not experiencing this phenomenon because their hearts are hardened. When people say “slain in the spirit” it’s not literal, it’s a figure of speech 😅. They say “slain” because the people of God fall as if they are dead when the power of God comes upon them. It’s because God’s power is so strong that the flesh can’t handle it. So they become incapacitated for a moment. And some like Isaiah said, “it’s like fire shot up in their bones” they begin to move as if literal fire is on them. It’s a spiritual thing. Only spiritual people will understand. If people remain carnal and limit God and remain in disbelief, they’ll never agree with any “unconventional” move of God. I’m rebuking you only because I feel the lord is leading me to in an effort to get you to see that God moves in many different ways. You were not there when I had this experience. So how is it possible that you “discerned” when you were never present? Some believe they have discerning of spirits when in actuality it’s only their flesh and emotions that are leading them. Not precious Holy Spirit. No one touched me or laid hands on me out of a crowd of 100-200 people. God my Father located me and bestowed his peace, love and joy upon me in that moment because I was solely focused on him. A demonic spirit is not going to manifest in pure joy, peace, love and happiness and cause me to laugh uncontrollably when no one is telling a joke or even in that moment my mind was empty and I wasn’t remembering something that was funny from long ago. It was God. Then I spoke in tongues for the first time ever, so how could it be a “mocking spirit”? Yes demons do manifest themselves in the presence of the lord but this was not that case.

There are churches where being slain in the Spirit is real, and certainly some churches are faking it. I also believe it is possible some churches have the Spirit at first, but worldly concerns close it out, but they blame the people who are not getting the gifts.

There are also religious experiences that validate different belief systems like the new age, mormanism and different types of false gospels but to say that what happened to me was not the holy spirit doesn't make much sense to me when the fruit of my 'slain in the spirit' experience is that I converted to Christianity by believing in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth; repented from my extremely sinful life and began to study the Bible.

I haven't fallen out but I eventually did talk in tongues but it took years,and much prayer before God allowed me to do it.Laughing is just weird, and definitely seems fake to me. There is scripture that talk about people falling down before the Lord's presence,so that's definitely possible.Who knows, maybe I will fall out one of these days too but that just hasn't happened yet. I have also shouted and praised uncontrollably before, and couldn't stop it if I'd tried!! That doesn't mean all these experiences we see are true. I'm just telling you that they're not all fake either!!Just continue to ask him and seek him in prayer, and you'll be surprised as what the Lord will do!! 🙏🏾

Christianity is a religion with a lot of forgiveness in it. The devil will try to get you to feel guilty and punish yourself for honest mistakes or anything else. I inadvertantly imitated a person ahead of me when they were speaking in tongues at church, thought I had it. Found out later it was imitation. Totally unintended, I was just confused. Not much later, I got the real thing. Nothing can keep from me the love that the Father has for me in Christ Jesus. Not angels or devils, nor having yielded to confusion or peer pressure. Nor guilt for past sons and mistakes.

Sister, I'm sorry for your experience but that doesn't mean these things aren't real!! Now first off, anyone saying you need to speak in tongues to be saved,is just not teaching sound doctrine,so I'm glad you left there but speaking in tongues is real,as is being knocked off your feet by the power of God, and people have been knocked off their feet by God's presence all the time in scripture!! That doesn't mean there aren't frauds as shown in this video but nor does it mean that people falling out doesn't happen or speaking in tongues. Both things can be true but most importantly,seek God and if you hunger and believe in that deeper experience,it will happen!! Bless you 🙏🏾

How does a true holy spirit enter a person when flesh is full of sin that is why God said you will be change from corruptible body to and incorruptible for the ones that are caught in the sky with him

@@soniaharris58 There is no such thing as a true holy spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who is God himself that manifests himself by his Spirit. If you attempt to understand what I say through carnal thinking, you nor we (in general) will not be able to because God's Word is Spirit. The Spirit of God dwells within a person after she or he sincerely repent of their sins through Jesus and be baptized in Jesus Christ. If the individual allows the Holy Spirit to change him or her, the person will become a new Creature/Creation in Christ. Old things are passed away, behold all things become New. This is the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit that takes place within the person. Only those that are in Christ and live for Christ will meet the Lord in the air and their bodies shall be changed within a twinkling of the eye. This is the first Resurrection. The change of corruptible to incorruptible.

Isaiah 55:8 " God's thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways". Just because you don't believe it, nor agree with it, doesn't mean it's not God. God Almighty can do what ever He wants through whom ever He pleases, and He doesn't need are permission or approval.

Except when a church or liar is imitating them to get followers for evil reasons. Even then, a person can possibly receive a good spiritual gift from a lying church, or get it at home, or get it without asking for it, because God is good and can do what is impossible for a mere human.

Another way of looking at it is, if God has overcome you by His power, then you certainly wouldn't need anyone to protect you. If you fall hard to the ground or take off running and run into something or someone, then sure that's what the Spirit wanted.

I have seen people faint and fall and not get hurt, they fell on carpet though. The pastor was at least ten feet away and ministering to other people. The Spirit goes where he will.

Not one verse of scripture teaches being slain in the spirit. Neither under Jesus or any disciple. Furthermore when he states greater things we would do. It had to do with His return to heaven and sending Holy Ghost power for ministry. Not for slaying in the spirit for what purpose? Finally your conscience is not scripture. What purpose does it serve in the kingdom of Christ?

It's unfortunate "slain in the spirit" ever became a term people started using because people like you will say things aren't scripturual without even backing up what you say using scripture. Jesus and the Holy Spirit live in our hearts as believers and I could feel the sensation of an all consuming fire (see in hebrews - our God IS an all consuming fire) also this fire felt like a spirit within my heart (thus why it is often tied to the Holy Spirit or God's presence, both of which are also mentioned in scripture) if you dont ever feel God's presence actively living in your heart (it is not a mere emotion, it is also way more powerful than I can describe it) as he is the same yesterday today and forever, you must not have his nearness if you aren't feeling Him actively working inside you. Seek the Lord while he is near and while he can be found as the prophet Isaiah once said in specific context but you and I both know God wants us to feel his nearness and presence of his Love when it can be found. This fire wasn't a fire of pain, it was a fire of pleasure and of God's love, and it is the cleansing and circumcision of the heart that broke the urge for me to continue watching porn. I was completely set free and felt God's love in my heart daily for an entire month, honestly it might've been much longer it's hard to remember, but I felt it even in my sleep. My in-home counselor said I didnt need him anymore. The entire countenance of my face was different and changed very drastically for the better and that part of my life I felt happier than ever before, it was the happiest time of my life and i stopped many sins completely, and stopped being such an angry and suicidal person. All of it went back to how it was when I was stupid enough to watch porn again even though I didnt even have the sexual urge, I forced myself to do it anyway hoping God's presence wouldn't leave, I ignored the warnings "you can not plug in to both God and in to sin" as he put it, from the man who prayed for me who God transformed me through their prayer, I gave up everything and was selfish and disobeyed by that act. Because I watched porn again for the first time in a very long time my anger problems and many of my same old sins came back and were worse than ever before and the nearness has left me. I even went to jail many years later. I immediately stopped feeling the Lord's presence consistently and all because I accused Jesus of being a liar by choosing to watch porn, and all it took was 1 time. This happened when I was 14 years old and I am now 27. I went to jail roughly 2-3 years ago and was there for about only 2-3 months because God was very gracious to me. I've regretted that decision to watch porn and leave God's nearness to this day. John the Baptist mentions in the Gospel being baptized in the holy spirit and now that Jesus lives in our heart and have the complete word of God and full access to his voice we are fully equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16) including even deeds greater than what Jesus once did. I felt the peace that surpasses understanding while I was laying down and felt the spirit of God on my heart my mind had an immense weight of grief lifted from it completely and I experienced a peace so great I could not comprehend it - also mentioned in scripture. You may not understand it that's because you never experienced it. you are limiting your own potential to experience God's love in a deep and powerful way by using doubt and lack of understanding to silence a good thing. Acts 1:8 refers to an empowerment you can only get to reach people as effectively as possible when you have received Gods nearness that is peace and love that may do an inner work of healing you will not find anywhere else but through being baptized in the holy Spirit or by anything else that is of God to that great extent and with all barriers lifted according to His perfect will, although you can experience God's love in many ways and this is just one way. The only way you may experience any of these things is by the blood of Jesus alone and being sensitive to His voice without reservation, bias, nor agenda. That transformation gave me a yearning to become a missionary in places where Christianity isnt legal because Jesus will not return and the end will not come until every tongue, tribe, and nation has heard the message of the Gospel. This is also scriptural. No one knows the day and hour. That's because we determine it by our actions to serve everywhere we go. Now I'm not anywhere near as fit for the job as I once was and all because of one bad decision that lead to many other bad decisions. Some of these things I've already said in my first comment, in particular the paraphrase of what John the Baptist said.

Only God can help you understand at this point if you arent even willing to read his word either and make the very direct connections that are to be understood by his word, he may need to intervene on your behalf supernaturally, and we can't guarantee he will choose to do that for you when you fight against it.
