Everyone, she's doing it wrong. She's not using enough force to slap it so of course the food is not going to cut. Consumer Report you fail.

Yeah, at first I was wondering why this video was getting so many dislikes but then I figured out you were purposely using the product incorrectly. The other reviews I've seen encourage a short, sharp slap for it to work, as shown on the infomercial. A weak, drawn out push on the plunger doesn't cut it. That said, because I can use a knife I won't be buying one.

Thresha, in this video, IS NOT LOVABLE, YOU DITCH! She, compared to Vince, only pushed down for 5 seconds, then released. Vince, is Accurate, He got perfect results in the Imformercial, and Thresha didn't. It's Not a "Push down for 5 seconds then release Chop", it's a "Slap Chop". get it? SLAP CHOP!!!

i guess you never slapped a kid. or got slapped as one. what you did was maybe a pat. it's slap chop, not pat chop. by pressing and keeping the hand pressed, youre basically canceling the quick cut, and spring mechanism that supposed to leave the blades clean. you fail, at a product which explains its proper way of use in it's name.

I'm not saying this thing doesn't work as advertised BUT I found it east to spot 2 key flaws in this review. 1. Vince slaps it properly with a quick withdraw, which should prevent the food from having a chance to stick to the blades. 2. it's a small gadget so I would only expect for it to work smoothly with smaller ingredients like in the infomercial.

You can buy a thing just like the slap chop at walmart or any store for cheap! No need to buy a 20.00 one. They work just as well. I have one so my young son who likes to help in the kitchen, but is too young to really use a knife well, can use this to chop onions and peppers.

SlapChop has evidently paid a bunch of shills to dog this review. Well, the review is correct. My wife has one of these things, and it works much better on TV than it does in our kitchen. Even if it worked as advertised (ours doesn't) it can't replace a proper chef's knife and a little practice. The SlapChop pieces will always be uneven, from particles to chunks. With a proper knife and knife skills, you really can get a fast, uniform cut. There's a reason you don't see this in pro kitchens.

At least TRY to use the product as directed instead of wasting your time attempting to prove Vince wrong. It works, that's all I need to say.

You have to really wind up and hit it, otherwise it won't chop anything and the food will get stuck in the blades.

The Slap Chop does work! The only reason it does not work while your doing it is because you are not hitting it hard enough. I have one of my own... (not to be rude) LOL! :)

I've seen people use it, it works if you do it right.

I got one tried to chop up an apple and the apple got stick, the grater thing which you can also buy when you buy a slap and chop does not work at all.

I never knew Consumer Reports can be bad at something....apparently they can. She demonstrated two things, and the one that was actually demonstrated, she didn‘t even do it right. She sliced the onion sideways, which makes it impossible to get the onion off even when you are using a knife....does she even cook at home? Vince cut it vertically....which is how EVERY home cook would.....

ah, you guys see that is the genius of the marketing behind slap chop and the magic bullet, they use tiny veggies for the most part. Where as you, and the rest of us will most likely use the full sized versions 99% of the time. so unless you want to use cherry tomatos in all of your meals then they won't work

BS. It is an adjunct to a food processor - for quick stuff. Also, apparently only men can use it properly. Works fine for me.

no 'we' dont love her. you have to slap it harder obviously... in the commercial vince slaps it harder. do you do that with a normal kitchen knife??? just try to chop it really slowly and hold it down for a second then bring it up??? the food would get stuck in the knife too. so think before you speak.

Thank you Consumer Reports! Now we seen the truth that Slap Chop didn't do as well as it claimed to be. After I seen this video, Slap Chop is really a piece of junk.

Ive had one of those for a cheap buck. and i worked brilliantly. in fact I used it so much eventually broke and i bought another one. Sure you can do the same thing with a knife. but i wouldn't say its a bad product. Anyone who compares a commercial with reality and expect a identical perfect result is an idiot. And if peeling an onion is the worst part. Don´t chop it.

OMG if you are going to do a damn consumer report it would help to use the product in the CORRECT manner. Its called the SLAP chopped. Not the push down for 15 seconds chop. If thats is how fast you slap something or someone, im sure you get beat up alot lol

Pretty accurate review . I cut celery and it got stuck in the blades. While it chopped it i had to dig it all out. Hardly a time saver. A knife does a better job and way faster. Even slapping it pretty hard all food got stuck in the blades and celery came out a little stringy which means it wasn't even sharp enough to give it a clean cut. You have to cut the anyway to fit it in the chopper so may as well go all the way with the knife.

I dunno why you'd need that thing. WIth that little amount of food, knife works much faster.

You did it the wrong way and yet still mock the product... An accurate review is when you do it right and it doesn't work.

It seems like she was just using it in a ham-handed careless way. If stuff gets stuck in it - and I expect it would, given how it looks - then maybe you should pull the plunger up to give it a helping hand. I've only watched reviews, but it seems like it will only get stuck on the first couple of passes, and then after that you can keep going without too much worry. Since Consumer Reports are supposed to be so professional, why didn't they try to review multiple brands from different makers?

If you ask me the reason ConsumerReposts doesn't like anything is because all the things they review are informercial garbage. As for her attitude, I don't want to see anyone making nice with these infomercial scam artists.

Are you kidding me? I don't own one, but my parents do and it works just fine. This design has been around for decades; it's not that complicated. Consumer Reports is hurting their own credibility with this "review". This looks like that brownie pan commercial where the moron can't cut brownies without tearing them. Is Ms. Panetta really *that* weak? Maybe she should hit the gym and lift something heavier than a laptop.
