Goodness, I remember seeing and playing this game years ago and tried to look for it but I couldn't find it. But the art style stuck with me and I can immediately recognize it. Thank you for bringing it back up to the surface.

I've been playing this for quite some time now and it is so cool. Nice to see you playing it again Splattter... getting 'hooked up on stuff" is a game mechanic, you are expected to know how to move around efficiently... Dexterity. I totally love the art style and the way its 2D in a 3D environment... objects/enemies "turn" to face you in an eerie, creepy kindda way. This game is just darn fun!

Instead of aligning to view plane like in old 3D games that use sprites, they align to the camera, which increases the "cardboard cutout" effect. IDK why they did it this way when aligning to view would look much better, but many 3D-sprite indie games do this for some reason.

Did KZfaq up it's ad frequency? Not even 8 minutes in and I had two double ads breaks, yeesh. Anyway, this game still looks cool as heck. Final count, 7 ads in a half hour vid. Every 4-ish minutes. Ouch KZfaq, who hurt you?

Yes. They shove ads everywhere now, without author permission. Even in the middle of the lengthy songs.

have you considered an adblock?. i havent seen ads on pc...since ever i guess? they tend to spam me when i watch things on mobile.

Dude! Power Attacks! Standing smashing them in the face is suicide. You need to open with charging a power attack then sprint to the mob, sprint attack + power attack can usually one-shot most mobs.

this is oen of those games that's hard as hell at first but gets a lot easier once you level up your character a few times. Especially when you get 1 or 2 points of life steal perma learned. With that you can completely refill your heath bar just by hitting an enemy once or twice.

@@mattissilverbern7791 Unfortunately this game all about numbers. You literally could do nothing without grinding for stats. And this game takes away your levels and stats after death. The gameplay is "Ten steps forward, nine steps back".

I was thinking the exact same thing about the long dark having no gloves on the character. really loving this game , played it for around 6 hours straight 1st time and It has a very satisfying combat system and loot. only annoying thing I found was getting stuck on boxes and crap.

@@a.faizzudinmohdjaafar5971 the boss?, grenades easily kills it (4 will kill it outright, if you have less, you at least get it to drop a lot in HP). and if you dont have em, charge up your weapon while sprinting and then run into the boss and slap it, i read you can also use the acid the eggs create after you smash them and then let the boss walk into it.

@@a.faizzudinmohdjaafar5971 Yep. I have a video up fighting and defeating the Lvl 4 boss. Yes, grenades are Very helpful. I recorded it if you want to take a look. It's my latest Slasher's Keep video. My round 2 with the Big Beast. Getting a bit stronger helped too, as the game is a roguelite. 👍

You shouldn’t have disabled hints lol. You have to master the parry, charging attacks, pushing enemies into traps and using exploding barrels.

The vender first appears on level 2 and the blacksmitch on level 3. Played this game for quite a while, fun but difficult

So, just so everyone knows, you get bonus damage from sprinting while holding a charge atk an hitting an enemy, even more if they don't see u. Lots of one hit potential. Try to chain enemies in the first level, jus sprint from room to room getting as many charged sprint hits in as possible. If you do it correctly you should always level on the first floor an heal all the dmg u took. It's faster then blocking, funner and u get more XP. I wouldn't recommend it as much in later rooms until you get the hang of it though.

I love the art style in this game. I want to play it but I can't unless it's supported on NVIDIA Now. My computer is a big fat potato... Edit: I had to pick it up... It actually runs not too bad with this integrated GPU. It's not butter smooth but it's playable. I find some games that are "stylized" like this runs poor even though it has a low poly count. This game reminds me so much of Dungeon Hack and Eye of the Beholder of days past.

I like the look but the enemies seem so bullet spungy I can't seem to get behind it. Would love to see this style with less grindy combat.

It's cause he's still new to the game, lotsa meta I've seen with using the sack - for example to stun casters or avoid haymakers from moles - charging the weapon, and blocking the zombies, etc. Plus he wasn't upgrading his skills much whenever he was leveling, I saw him open that menu toward the end but he didn't put points into any of the skills. Different weapons seem to let you learn different skills, and you can also perma-learn them, etc. Lotsa stuff like that was missing from this pre-review, but it's a decent first look attempt.

The one and only thing keeping this game from being the best FPS RPG on the market is the platforming sections. The platforming sections require an excessive amount of accuracy and you die instantly if you miss a jump.
