@@slaverace1 Actually, have a question for you. I am looking to flash the comp map on the 2010 Husaberg FE390. Do you guys have the tool in your service center?

I appreciate the time you spent to make the video. From what I gather, the spring can be changed without the special tool that you have had for 40 years by simply running the adjustment collar all the way up to the top of the spring. But you choose to save one or two minutes by using your tool? I wish you would have shown us how to replace the spring without your special tool and done it from start to finish. I will be ordering my springs from you because you know what you are doing. I could go to eBay and save $10. But your expertise is worth more than that!

Thank you. We appreciate your patronage. Sorry, all of my videos could be improved. Making them is a PITA that cuts in to my riding time so I make them as short and simple as possible and hopefully they help out a few guys. Just an FYI: The springs I see on eBay are made in Asia, ours are not. We try our best to provide quality products and we offer a warranty on our springs. No other company does that. Thanks again. JS

When using a progressively wound spring, what end goes up?

No special tools are needed, you can do this with your hands. Twist the spring so the preload nut comes undone completely. Measure the length of the spring beforehand so you know the ballpark where to put it once you install the new one. Sag you gotta fix anyways.

I said all of that in the video.

Not a bad video , But if you've got a new shock and spring , There's certainly going to be lots of chipped paint on the spring for sure .
@slaverace16 жыл бұрын
No chips. I usually put rag where the compressor touches the spring.

Would be 20 seconds to wind the preload adjuster up, cant see why you wouldnt?

just release the tension. Why all the drama with a spring compressor
@slaverace13 жыл бұрын
I've been using that tool for 40 years. With it there is no need to hassle with the spring tension rings. Much less "drama" than your method but whatever blows your skirt up is fine with me.
