I once got a privilege to meet them in person 2 decades ago when they visited HK. Got an opportunity to watched them both dancing during their practicing lesson with my lady boss while videoing it.

Let’s just admit, that when we all saw it for the first time, we knew, that it was something truly special. I mean there are many many beautiful couples and rumba routines, but to this day, this one is out of this world. The music, choreography, their connection - ah, just the best rumba of all times.

Уже 2022...а я до сих пор наслаждаюсь Славиком и Кариной....какое все таки совершенство движения,единения и полета душ над жизненной матрицей.Созданный шедевр закрыв глаза иногда воспроизводится по танцевальной памяти...и паришь с ними...Спасибо афробот за это видео тут на Ютубе .

No one does it like Karina Smirnoff. She uses every muscle in her body all the way down to her fingers to tell a story. Her facial expressions, ...everything a professional latin ballroom dancer is supposed to be. She is the best of all time.

Лучшая румба,необыкновенно лиричная,романтичная,страстная.Карина талантливо владеет телом,раскрывая великую силу Любви,заставляет поверить зрителя в искренность чувств к партнеру,выразительный взгляд и яркая эмоциональная насыщенность дополняют картину.Ради таких моментов стоит жить.

Смотрю в 1000-ый раз и не перестаю восхищаться практически балету на паркете, продумано все до последних мелочей, даже в паузах история продолжается,вдохновенно-нежно-страстно,великолепно-необыкновенно. Браво!!!!!!!!

After so many years and after so many viewing of the dance, Slavik is still my most favorite Latin dancer. In my opinion, He is the best in the world, even for many reasons he could not be the World Champion, but in my mind, he is! The fact that this was the first rumba I ever saw by chance ten years ago, and that I will be seeing them live in one week is amazing. To quite possibly see the dance that inspired you to learn will be such a gift, and to understand all the emotion that is portrayed now that I am older makes it all the better. I can't express how much I love this story in motion.

At that time Slavik's body was equipped w/big & small muscles all over thushe was strong enough for handling Karina's body freely...and Karina also was in her early '20s...so phisically strong and flexible...thus resulting in great performance....

Totally aknowledge their body of work in the period they danced together, but still I feel Anna Melnokova brought something completely different that was so undefined, so untouchable. I miss her, with him!

The name of the song is "Cuando te beso" (when I kiss you) from the Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra, and I believe this instrumental version is the one by pianist Raul Di Blasio

А мне не понравилось.... Партнёрша музыки не слышит.... Ни грации, ни пластики.... Весь танец держится, только на партнере.... И вообще, после ШЕДЕВРАЛЬНЫХ танцев, Рикардо и Юлии, другие просто меркнут....
