flex is honestly not that good. It's ok but I rarely pick it on ascension runs. There r better things to fill your hand/deck with

Nah, flex is a good card. I like to play an upgraded flex when I have artifact, boom, 4 Strength for the rest of the battle for 0 energy. It's a good card, you just don't want to overload your deck with it.

Upgraded flex is significantly better than regular flex but upgrades get more scarce as you ascend due to needing to heal. There are many, many cards that sunergise much better with artifact. But artifact is so rare that it's only barely worth mentioning when talking about them. Again im not saying I never take flex, it just depends on context. Sometime's it's an OP version of slice, sometimes it's basically a curse.

@@samuelalphabet5360 Once you get a Whirlwind, Flex becomes pretty much an automatic pickup. Unless you already have 2+ Flex cards, of course.

When I started playing, it was really easy to understand everything. The game makes it very clear how it works. I didn't need to google anything at all because everything is designed to be 'understandable' - you know exactly what energy is, what HP is, etc. As long as you've played a rogue-like or a drafting card game before, it's very easy. Just highlight something if you don't know what it is and it'll tell you. As long as you can read. :P The things that there are to learn, you can learn them by playing, which is fantastic. Laguvulin's sleep mechanic, what each attack means (enemy intends to inflict a debuff) - they're easy to understand once you see them, and you learn like that. You always feel like you have more to learn and get better at, which is amazing compared to if they were explained to you straight up. The game is about learning more and getting better. They teach you the basic mechanics and the rest of the game fits around those mechanics. You explore and learn all the new stuff in relation to the base mechanics, which is fantastic. They never introduce new mechanics or anything - just different forms of the base mechanics.

It's a roguelite. You're generally not told much at the start by design. Exploring the mechanics of the game tends to be part of the progression.

A game being hard doesnt make the new player experience bad. You need to learn the mechanics to get good, and the game gives you everything spelled out perfectly to enable that learning.

A basic diagram of the card drawing cycle could help at the beginning. When that message popped up "you're out of cards, so your discards get reshuffled!" I'm not even sure Sean had actually seen his draw pile yet haha. On the other hand you figure it out soon enough.

I like animations, they look pretty. Half the enjoyment of a game comes from the visuals.
