In this her version Angelina has really reinterpreted the beauty, the color, the voice, the style of a legendary song and of exceptional songwriter, she has created a beautiful yellow jewel, absolutely "made in Angelina" (look also the t-shirt printed with her photo at the age of 7 at NGT). This girl has an absolutely unique talent and taste and she is not afraid of anything, there are no impossible songs for her, she will find a way to transform them with her extraordinary musical intelligence. The slowed use of words and the breathing that fills the negative spaces in the songs is a distinctive trait of Angelina, not a calculation or an imitation, it is part of her vocal composition and of her way of rereading the songs, since small. Thank you for your reaction to AJ's amazing version of GBYBR, she has a few names one of them is the girl with a thousand voices, the thing is she is any voice she wants and at the same time completely unique musically and vocally, I have listened to everything she has ever sung and it is a lot multiple times and I have never known any artist as versatile as she is , she adapts her voice depending how she envisions the song, she just gets better and better and keeps surprising us, her more recent EP of originals is a blending of genre's or Angelina's genre , she is just AJ the one and only she doesn't fit in any box but can dip in and out at will, for me she is a blend of all the greatest artists from the last hundred years with the added kaleidoscope of vocal mastery that is AJ. To me, best rendition of this Iconic song I have ever heard, she is very clever dressing in yellow for this song and you may have missed it but she was wearing a T-shirt with her likeness from the NGT show I believe. I agree with you, the style she used in this competition was chosen specifically to appeal to these judges and this audience. She didn't win the competition but it doesn't matter, she got the exposure she was looking for.

She is a student of all things music. As such, she is well aware that two things excite a competion crowd: belting and complex or extended runs. Nit sure what voices you're hearing but there's no mistaking it's AJ. This arrangement was heavily influenced by the brilliant Sara Bareilles version. Sadly Angie never recorded the entire song but you can listen to Sara's complete rendition which was performed with Sir Elton in the audience.

Thanks for reacting to this awesome performance by Angelina. Of course, being in a competition she wants to win, but that isn't the reason why Angelina is singing this song the way she does. After listening to 200+ cover songs, especially the 6 original songs on her most recent EP, it becomes clear that the Barefoot Angel uses different style for each song. She is known as the artist with 1,000 voices.

I agree with you that she changes how she sings from tune to tune, but not for the competitive reason you speculate. Upon further exposure to her output I trust you will notice that these performance practice choices are musical and artistic, intended to be appropriate for that song.

I think you are partially correct in you comment in as much as yes “she chooses to sing this way”, but as you get to know her better I think you will understand that the reason she chooses to do so is not to win the competition, but rather that this is what she believes best serves the song itself. Same outcome perhaps but vastly different underlying approach. For AJ it’s all about the song!

AJ, known as the girl of a thousand voices, selects a voice for each song that is appropriate for the song's message and style. The sound varies dramatically, e.g., I'd Rather Be Blind. As for the bottom of her range, listen to How Great Thou Art. With over 200 songs recorded, you have barely begun to see her versatility across many genres and times but that's the exciting part! There's a long and amazing journey there if you choose to go there. Happy listening.

First, please name some, or one of these artists. Then, put a song section of your named artist up on a reaction video, then put up Angelina's a Capella opening to Bohemian Rhapsody. You would have to be more specific about your Bohemian Rhapsody comment(s), for me. I have a lot of context. Keep in mind, Queen gave her Copyright privilege for that performance. Also, she sings differently on so many songs which is why I say context matters. She sang “Feeling Good” pretty straight when she was 10 years old. She sang “I’d Rather Go Blind” as a completely different person. Same thing with “Suspicious Minds” and “How Great thou Art” Her wheelhouse mostly is some type of jazz or R&B influence, with a specific tone, rasp, and vocal fry, sometimes fused with standard tonality like “Easy on Me” (pretty straight actually, respect to the source, with some Angelina branding mixed in), or this one “GBYBRd” 😷, “Born to Die”, and “A Million Years Ago”. also blends of style. “I Have Nothing” was fairly straight, “I’d Rather go Blind” was one long vocal fry tutorial. 🤓 I have others. One thing too, other than “The Barefoot Princess” she has also been dubbed the Chameleon. Now listen to her EP. Jazz-Pop fusion, start to finish, and I don’t like it very much. Songs are too tight, and short, designed for the radio. (What radio)? Her best originals for me are “Million Miles”, and “Shield” just mho, and nothing but respect for your opinion. I can say with much certainty, that if you have listened to as many songs as devoted “Angels” (count me in), it would bend your opinion, the way she bends the word insane, in “Born to Die” I would also say, listen to her version of “Unchained Melody” the second time, with her guitarist, I think it was Ivan Mendez that time, she had two, an intimate setting, then listen to the recent Nobel version. ☑️👌😎 JP

This performance and Suspicious Minds are actually no more than 2,5 years apart, as this was recorded JUST before she turned 14, and she was 16,5 on Suspicious Minds in 2022. I was let-down by this predictable production when it was first aired on AGT TV. This was her 2nd performance following the creative, angelic version of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY that blew most everyone away. And even for AJ fans who'd spent the previous two years thunderstuck by her PUT A SPELL video, the two FEELING GOOD videos, the two SUMMERTIME videos and so many more - I still think her YELLOW BRICK is simply underwhelming. Predictable. "Everyone slows this down... this isn't new or wonderful. Not for AJ, at least!" But the real story was that AGT didn't want blown-away performances. They wanted a familiar, predictable number that they could match against the dozens of others - maybe hundreds of other - examples of this song performed the same away. This was an Apples-to-Apples Test, therefore. I understood then.
