JESUS does actually save people--from hell and sin, but He is NOT a con artist, out to get your money. He saves because of His love and mercy. He saves because He doesn't want people to suffer for all eternity. The Bible says, 21And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21) 11 For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. (Matthew 18:11) 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." @@teamatfort444 Yes, I know that Tom Araya is Catholic. But that doesn't say very much, since the Catholic religion is a "plus" religion. That is, it takes teachings from the Bible and adds to it. So although there may be true born again believers in the Catholic "Church", most Catholics are not true Christian believers, since the false doctrine taught by the RCC teach contrary to the Bible, and thus produce false converts. Many of the 70 million Catholics in America were born into their religion and have never examined their faith through the lens of Scripture. From infancy they are taught that salvation comes through their church as they merit saving grace through the sacraments and perform religious rituals and good works to be justified and re-justified. Roman Catholicism is often called the plus religion because of what it has added to the Gospel of grace. Catholic salvation is based on Jesus plus Mary, faith plus works, grace plus merit, Scripture plus tradition and the blood of Jesus plus purgatory. Catholics do not know that any addition to the Gospel is a denial of the sufficiency of Christ (Heb. 7:25). Any addition to the Gospel also nullifies the saving grace of God, which is the only means by which God saves sinners (Romans 11:6). Catholics, who are victims of this deception, need to be evangelized with the true Gospel of grace.
