Sleep Token is putting out their new album on May 19th and I am absolutely loving it so far.
Vessel's voice is right in my range so I figured I'd keep dropping covers!!
On that note, I hope you enjoy my cover of Sleep Token's new song Chokehold!
I had one of my good friends, Peter, record one of the angles so be nice!
Some of the video got off-time while rendering but it is what it is!

100%!!! These singers have such a wide range, it's a shame for that to be missed. It doesn't need to be a ton of the song clean but parts absolutely. Even Kyle in Brand of Sacrifice just recently did this and Alex Terrible in Slaughter. Hopefully it becomes more pronounced.

Anyone else kind of get pissed off at Will? He's charming, extremely nice, down to earth, brutal on growls, and can sing like a siren. Like goddamn dude, have one fault. Edit: Comment got a couple views. Just want to say, I love everybody's input. My favorite aspect of music is that it causes all of us to feel some sort of emotion, no matter how different, and that's why it is so sacred to me. That's it for my soap box, I encourage everyone to hit "play again" on this one.

I'm 44 and I gotta admit that it's so exciting that something like this exists to still blow our minds after so many years of saturation. That something can still surprise me so wholely is insane. Cameron McBride has a similar thing goin on. He has a solo project called methwitch (basically mathcore, deathcore, and grind mashed together) and he also has a solo project called your ghost in glass which is metalcore

Maybe wasn't confident in what to do with them. Obviously he's doing this style really well, but I'd argue it's a very creative use of cleans coming from Sleep Token and Will probably just didn't think it was possible until he heard it. Kinda like one day it clicked and he goes "dang this guy sounds good... hey I kinda sound like him". Sometimes it's hard to do something new like that even if you're good at it. Even if he can sound like Vessel, it's not that easy to implement that sound into original content. Like I said, his voice is pretty unique and requires a unique songwriting approach. Can he figure it out? Probably, but it comes down to whether or not he wants to put in the work to learn how to make it work for him. He already has a working formula with his dirty vocals.

I love that Will is so obsessed with Sleep Token, I feel like it’s fueling some major growth as a musician and Lorna Shore is gonna benefit from it!! A lot of people seem to be saying “leave Lorna as it is,” but honestly the more range they have as a band the more they can ride the waves of ever changing music preferences! Lorna Shore is gonna be around for a lonnnngggg time if all the members keep growing and learning like this!

So there might be cleans some day. In Dancing Like Flames there was already that small whispered part which I liked a lot. I hope they explore a bit more in that direction :)

okay... that was just thrilling. usually i'm not a fan of harsh vocals, but at this particular song - to me - it was just perfect. perfect in an uncomfortable way. it's like i felt the pain, the anger and desperation in the words "you've got me in a chokehold". WOW, just wow. i don't know what to say. this vocal cover just speaks to me on an emotional level that few songs do. thank you so much for this. i'm hearing this over and over again - no joking.
