Sleep Token, Leipzig [Road To World Record, Part 172]

2 ай бұрынOne band, that currently is really hyped is Sleep Token. And you really see their growth within 2023. In January they played as a support for Architects and now they are headlining the very same venue. That was the reason for my dear friend Dany and his fiancé Silvia to come all the way from Spain to attend the concert with me. Silvia was getting extremely emotional during their set and started a thing called crying pit with some other girls. But also mosh pits were allowed. I really see why they are hyped and personally don’t think they are overhyped, what do you think?

Definitely polarizing. If you do like the kind of music they put out, you're pretty much guaranteed to love the band because they really don't miss in quality. People who dont like it as much end up hating it because they see how much others enjoy it and don't understand.

That's how you get people who click on videos about bands they dont like and writing negative comments. If they truly just didn't like the band's music, they wouldn't click on it.

@@elboof8484 as long as its not insulting or trolling I think a discussion is always a good thing. Even if you agree to disagree, especially music is a very personal taste-thing so its fine that people do like other bands or songs than others... :)

@@VestalisDE oh for sure, “I don’t like them because xyz” with a reasoning behind it is very different than “they suck and their music sounds horrible”. I’m certainly not trying to say everyone should like it, I’m just saying that a lot of the hate they get is because people like it so much.

Vastly overrated band. They are just taking pop sensibilities and putting a little edge on it. It’s heavy music for people who don’t understand heavy music. Great musicianship; the substance is just surface level and they have people fooled by the guise.

So you are basically saying, that all music which isnt heavy is overrated? I disagree, as there are different taste in music. Just because I dont like that specific music I wouldnt see myself in the position to say its overhyped.

@@VestalisDE No, I'm saying that they have taken the Imagine Dragons formula and put a "heavy" spin on it. I find it funny how special people think this band is. They are playing a trick on all of you.

@@aarondiehl1904 You're making it sound like you think that they're conning people into liking their music lmao. They took what TOOL did and built upon it, and for what TOOL was, is special in the way that its experimental. Its a band's worth of work done by a single person with one vision, so it comes out very stylized and people like that. People like to shit on bands like imagine dragons but theyre all just chasing what they believe to sound good, and lots of people agree with them. Its not everyone's thing and it shouldn't have to be. "heavy music for people who don't understand heavy music" is so elitist by the way. i read that and cringed

@VestalisDE I watched them in concert last night again. If they rocked it up more, then it might sound decent . The lead singer needs to learn how to dance better he's prancing about looks stupid. I gave them a chance. I give them 5 out of 10.
