So pretty much in short, feed them, put them in their bed, let them cry for a bit, come back in and shush them, leave again, keep doing this until they sleep

I used your method almost 2 years ago with my little boy when he was 4 months old and it worked sooo well with him! He was stubborn but I stuck it out and it was the best decision of my life. Now I share your video with anyone who asks how to get their child to sleep through the night. ❤️

Hi Elle, I have been following you for a year now and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU under this video that I watched when my firstborn arrived in March 2018. Your advice worked like magic! He is almost 3 months old now and has been sleeping a solid 10 to 11 hours every night for the past 2 months. He is a happy and content baby 😊 Thank you so much again for sharing your life with us. You are an inspiration. Love from France

Best video ever! Our son started sleep regressions around 4 months after sleeping the through the night with no problems. We suffered through 6 weeks of sleeping a couple of hours a night and we were both at our wit's end. We research about dozen videos and liked this one the most. 9 MINUTES!!! IT TOOK 9 MINUTES OF LETTING HIM CRY AND HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! That was March 2017 and I can count on one hand the number of nights we've had to get up with him since then! Thank you so much, Elle!

Thanks Elle! Your video convinced my wife to tough it out and give our 9 month old a try. Only took less than 30 min. I was in the room doing my thing. Wife was downstairs. This beats holding the baby for 2 hours until my wife's arms and back break + sleep deprivation.

Sleep training night one, it's so hard hearing him cry but 8 months without a whole night of sleep has me needing to do this for both of us. Thanks for your tips. I used it to keep busy between going in to check on him ❤️ Finally, he's sleeping. Night one....

I just tried my first time sleep training my 8 month old baby tonight using this videos tips. It took exactly 18 min with a pick up to comfort in between and it's only going to get better. For those saying you shouldn't let your baby cry, it's only for a few minutes at a time for 5 days probably less. You should know if your baby really needs attending to. I suppose it's really just routine. Best video ever! Definately sharing this to family and friends.

Hi, I'm a mom to 3 now young adults (born in 1995, 1996 and 2001). What you say in your video is exactly what I did and I feel completely in line with you. Children of any age need to know "who is the boss" - not meaning dominating them, but LEADING them. And this is even true with my 2 girls, aged 22 and 20 today: they're not yet economically autonomous so their parents still have their say about some topics in their lives. Also, our youngsters RESPECT me because they feel that I'm able to stand up for my own needs, too. And they are able to RESPECT THEMSELVES. Well done, keep on track!

I CANNOT thank you enough for this video 😍 I followed a feeding schedule for my daughter in order to also help with sleep training and we both hated sticking to the clock, just didn’t work. I’ve had the hardest time finding the feed on demand yet ALSO sleep train. So thank you! So glad to see it can be done!!

Thank you for this video. I originally sleep trained my baby and he was sleeping by 9 weeks old but then he started teething a few weeks later and he stopped sleeping through the night and I've been rocking him to sleep since... he's 10 months old... This just encouraged me and I'm going to sleep train him again! Thanks a bunch!

Hi, thank you for the video! I have done exactly the same way with my baby from the beginning and my baby also sleeps very well and through the night. It is very nice to see that this kind of training works because I did it on my own instinct but I never haven't had any references to it, so thank you for putting it all together in one video. I will defenetly share it to another new moms as they ask for advice!

I think it's great that you are encouraging parents to teach their children good sleep habits through your methods!😊 It's beneficial not only for the parent but also for the child. With my first, I read The Baby Whisperer, and she is a wonderful sleeper to this day. She falls asleep within a few minutes of laying down and sleeps soundly and peacefully through the night. She is 8 years old now and wakes up with a positive attitude every morning, and I don't have to make her wake up as she willingly gets up. Now, having more experience and knowledge from teaching my first child, my one month old lays down quietly and quickly falls asleep for each nap and at night for his bedtime. He also only wakes up once through the night if I haven't tanked him up enough throughout the day or he is going through a growth spurt. His 1st cluster feed is at 8 pm then his last one is at 10 or 11, depending on how long I want to stay up or spend time with my partner that evening. Then, he sleeps until 7 am. Unless, like I said, he needs that one more feed because of a growth spurt. I love it because it will quickly and increasingly get better. At three months, last feed is at 7 and bedtime 7:30 with still one dream feed and wake up at 7. Then, at 7 months, bedtime is 7:30 with no dream feed and wake up is 7. I love this program and so do my kids!!!! Yay for us understanding the importance of quality sleep and teaching our kids, lol!😊

This saved my life! No joke, i was going nuts. Thanks for saying it’s ok to pick them up. So many sleep training techniques are sooo against that and it was making sleep training harder for us. Took us a good week and now our bedtime routine went from the most dreaded part of my day to my absolute favorite!

Thank you thank you thank you for this video! My daughter was sleep trained from the very beginning and then teething started around 6 1/2 months. She would only fall asleep with me in the bed. We resorted to letting her sleep in our bed because we couldn't fight the fight anymore. Bad idea! She's now 8.5 months and fully trained in 3 days! She doesn't even wake up at 3am for her night feed! We have our bed back and couldn't be happier. Sharing this video with all my co-sleeping mommy friends!

This is totally on point! My son Kieran is 8 weeks old and we have him napping and going to bed for the night at the same time as his older sisters who are 2.5 and 1.5. He still wakes a few times at night but goes right back to sleep after feeding. Sleep training has been a life saver for us... There is no way I would survive having 3 kids without everyone getting sleep. Love your channel and your family! :-)

just found this video today by accident but I feel it's God leading me to teach my little man to sleep through the night lol I jest but in all seriousness it's time and this is one of the best videos I've come across and starting today we are trying it. I have to say I'm shocked by some of the negative comments - everyone is entitled to their opinion but to "lose respect for" etc because someone wants to train THEIR child differently from how you train yours wow just WOW! I 100% know this will work for my child (and all children really) because I believe children thrive in discipline and schedule so here is to a perhaps tough week and full night sleeps from next week. thanks for the video you dedicated have a new subbie in me

Thank you so much for this video Elle. Tried this on my 8months old baby who wakes up 4-6times to breastfeed overnight and wakes up at every slightest noise.Well, all that is in the past now😄 I am super excited to say he now sleeps for straight 10-12hrs without waking up for feeds from the 2nd day. He cried so much on the first day though but just a little on the 2nd day. It took him just 2days to get used to it. God bless you for sharing this with us😘😘

This video was a life saver for my first!! She slept 12 hours a night from 3 months on. Now my second is 6 months and sleeping terribly... realizing that I needed to revisit this, because I'm doing so much wrong lol. I did newborn part with not letting her nap more than 3 hours in the day and she did sleep better then. But now I nurse her and pick her up through out the night. The last few nights regressed even worse and she woke up at 12pm last night and every other hour after... I'm over it! Can't wait to get her back on track!

You have some really good advice and some not so good. The science behind baby cry is proven and it can actually change their nerve system, the way they bond with people later in life, their trust (or lack of it) to people, etc. I have 3mo old and I've never let him "cry out". Babies don't cry for no reason. They're helpless and they need you. Yes, there are times when moms feel frustrated, but noone said it was going to be easy (at least not anyone who had a child). A baby is a little person, an individual, who a mother needs to get to know and need to learn their signs and it takes time and A LOT of effort. Good luck to everyone who have troubles teaching their baby to sleep. Having a video nanny system may help you a lot to see how your baby sleeps and react accordingly.

GOD bless you mightily for sharing the great encouragement, wisdom, insights, your experience in what has worked for you and what hasn't worked in sleep training your precious little one(s). We are first time parents with a 6 weeks and 5 days old -beautiful boy at the time of posting this, early in the morning of 01/25/17. Thanks so much!! My wife and I just decided to buckle down and dive in to start implementing the "business only" care within an hour of watching your video, and we're believers! It works!! I timed that screaming cry and soothed him for about 5 minutes after he went for about 8 or so almost at the top of his lungs, which was tough to listen to, but kept the interaction and 5 minute soothing I mentioned "business only" as you encouraged. With only one false start he self -soothed on the second attempt! Praise GOD! We've also been working to establish the feeding schedule as taught by Babywise, and we're now so encouraged by the hybrid approach we'll end up having; using some of Babywise's and your insights ... We're certainly not naive that baby will challenge the new regimen, however we'll keep chugging up the mountain!! So grateful and blessed. What a beautiful and precious family you have by the way! You're blessed and highly favored! [Pardon my excitement! I see and envision incredible, energy- filled, revived and refreshed days ahead! 😄😅😀 Return of some sanity and normalcy!! 🎉🎊🏇 Wohooooo!! Praise JESUS!! This was divinely orchestrated that we watch and land on your videos and your channel today, and we subscribed!👍👊🙌] Have blessed remainder to your week with the family. Thank you!! Don't stop encouraging and uplifting others!! Don't mind or give a thought to the naysayers! GOD will greatly increase this and HE's super proud and pleased by your precious and beautiful heart! > 1 Corinthians 15:57-58, Judges 6:2-16

It’s worked!!!!!!! My 10 month old daughter who was breastfed would wake up 5-6 times a night just to nurse for like a minute and then I would have to carefully lay her back. First day, (her 2nd nap in the afternoon) she cried for about 30-45 minute off and on. She fell asleep and it lasted for 10 minutes. When it was time for bed, she cried 3 minutes!!! My husband and I couldn’t believe it! She woke once that night at 1am and cried for about 2 minutes and then it stopped..I went in and checked and she had put herself back to sleep and didn’t wake up until 8:30 when I went in and woke her up. All naps on the second day she cried a MAX of 3-5 minutes. 2nd night she slept all night long! I am amazed! Thank you for making this video!

This was great, I have been researching "how to put your baby to sleep" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Qeysaiah Baby Bangka - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate got amazing results with it.

Thank you!!!! Your video helped me so much. I was finally ready for my baby to stop sleeping with us, but I didn't know how to do it. I followed your instructions and IT WORKED!! I'm so happy. He is finally sleeping through the night. (He was nursing about 6 times at night) Thank you!! Thank you!!

New comment for an old video😋 my daughter isn't awful about getting a good night sleep; most nights. She's turning 3 months today. My situation is tough as we have another one under one as well. She's great but he us not and he's 11 months. I've been doing a few of the things you've said already but not all. I will definately be trying everything on both babies. Thank you so much for the advice I'm wishing myself luck 😂😅💜

Hi Elle, I found your video really helpful and inspirational. My LO is almost 7mths old and I am currently on day2 of training him to fall asleep on his own...from newborn loved being rocked over so I was sure he would not do this however he has now put himself to sleep EVERY nap and nighttime and I am so proud as he is getting too heavy for me to rock over. He was up twice through the night the first night so hopefully that will improve over time. Many Thanks

Last night Alexander slept through the night for the first time ever! He stirred at 5.15 but put himself over again I never left my bed which is a first! I'm nervous but excited to see how he does tonight. Can I ask how long I would do this training in his own bed before it would be ok for him to nap elsewhere I spend quite a bit of time at my mums house but have stayed in our house so far to put him in his own bed each nap.x

Awesome! Are you going to put out another video on Cohen's sleeping? I know you did one for newborn, but never saw one for 3-6 months or after those first weeks! My daughter is in her 5th week now so I think we are ready for the next step. Love your videos!

Elle Lindquist My LO (6 months) goes down with easy most of the time but night waking is now a habit (sometimes 4xs a night). I use nursing back to sleep as a crutch because, well, it's quick and easy, and at first I thought she was hungry (clearly no longer the issue). Also, sometimes she will just roll around at night playing or trying to get comfortable this can last from 1-2 hrs!!!! This child just does not want to sleep. Any suggestions or does your ebook discuss issues like this? PLEASE help. Xoxo - Exhausted, desperate, first time mom
