I’ve been trying to crack the case for this thing for a long time, here’s my theory for the doll eye When mystery was a kid he had a great family, he had a loving father and mother, until, his father died from something called “livor mortis” livor mortis is basically a thing where after an animals heart stops beating some crazy things happen including the animals skin to turn a purplish blue, anyways his mother married someone new, the guy that mystery keeps calling, “stranger” that man was horrible to mystery, he was abusive and scarring for him, as you see, but his mother always helped him through the tough times, until she died from livor mortis as well, so for so many years stranger has been horrible to him, until he found mago, he always thought of mago as it was his mom, some more years go past and now we see Alfred and Kao and mystery in a hospital, mystery was in the hospital because if you look at him, he has livor mortis and mystery is going to die, and he was constantly been in and out of hospitals trying to find the cure, and the more and more he goes he keeps going more and more insane until he snaps, and Alfred might be the one that knows how to fix it but is being harassed and stalked by mystery and has been probably been doing the same to kao.

This was the animation that got me into animation! The only moving drawings i had ever seen at the time were disney movies and cartoons, so I was so entranced by this. I also loved how it was hinting at something darker, even though I was like 7 at the time lol

@Pink Princess , so mystery had a hard childhood, which included getting locked up in his room multiple times for several days, he also got a disease inherited from his mom, which makes the victim uncontrollably vomit, which explains why mystery is ever so unhealthily skinny, later on mysery's mom dies from the sickness which made the abuse towards mystery even more violent. Fast forward to when he is an adult, he developed claustrophobia from being locked in his room so many times, and still suffers the trauma his dad has given him, so he calls Arthur (his dad) 'stranger' in hopes of forgetting his trauma, now he has his sickness to deal with... He tried multiple formulas which didn't work and even some twice just to make sure, he then gets surgery to try and cure himself, the doctors did nothing wrong, but mystery experienced Anasthesia awareness, which means he felt every needle and scapel tearing through his flesh and guy, mystery experienced horrific pain for very long hours, and guess what? The surgery didn't even work! Mystery then tears up mago to re-enact the surgery and his pain ( Mago is mysterys doll, who he thinks was made by his mom, but was made by his dad, mystery had the doll since childhood and often talked to it while he was locked up, he loves the doll with his life and treats it like another human being, he still talks to it and gets extremely mad if anyone touches or messes with his doll) But in the end, he does stitch mago back up and only occasionally tears him back up again. Now after all mystery has been through, he starts to lose his mind, he scribbles things all over his walls, he is very hard to talk to or get anything that makes sense out of him, he draws pictures of all the people close to him and scribbles out his father's face when he draws him, I think mystery wants to kill himself because of the nooses in this animation and the bye bye meme, all this is theory and we aren't so sure if it's true

This may not help, as I am no sleepyking, but I think with that stuff it depends. You might have to make sure your character isn’t WAY TO SIMILAR, Because then it’s basically a clone. Use many things to change and distance your character.
