All these dumba$$es crowding the starting line is asking to get hurt or worse. First time something goes wrong they will be the first ones to blame the track. Sad a police officer has to stand on a starting line because of the "crowd" that's there.

But is that "over staging" rule while just trying to stage aka rolling through both beams quickly or "over staging" AFTER already being staged which Tony was? He had both bulbs lit AND the other driver lit the pre-stage which activates the Auto Start. Then Tony next started doing the cha-cha with the tree, first went deep, then went through, so wouldn't think a pull back would be allowed at that point since once "a" driver is staged, which Tony had been, that is considered "in the race" according to the rule book. Seems like Tony played the cha-cha and then tried to play the blame game that the other guy was taking too long, sounds like karma to me...IHRA rules also say > all runs will stand except interruptions caused by electrical failure or weather. I didn't see any one pull back listed in the rule book I found. At any rate it was a correct call by the timing system and by the starter, Left Lane Win.

They saw it on street outlaws and that's the cool thing to do now....and run with your finger in the air after your buddy's car takes off as if you're really helping to urge on the victory.

They do it until someone gets injured by a car popping on the line, sending parts into the wall sitters, then safety first becomes the order of the day but eventually everyone forgets and it's right back to the mob around the cars like it was before.

A burndown is a pre stage battle. Not sitting there for 2 minutes without breaking a beam. That would have been a timed out run, if the starter had enforced it

@jimharris2003 not really. There is a time limit for drivers to enter pre stage, that was not enforced. Go back and watch burndowns with Warren Johnson and other racers. I've never seen anyone just sit there for that long that wasn't broken, without breaking the pre stage beams
