I must say I've watched almost every KZfaqrs video on slicking down but yours takes the cake. Every other time I would do it , it would never work my hair would be looking stiff and never laid down. Coming across your video changed everything. I have 4c hair it so hard to lay it down, but I finally got it thank you❤

You could also go to the beauty supply store and get the tape to help the hair lay down along with the silk scrap.. it really works leaving your hair smooth

No, not everyday. Just make sure that you wrap your head every night when you style this so you only have to do touch-ups when you wake up. You should still wash/deep condition your hair on the days you usually would for your routine, because that would be when you'd re-style your hair. Hope this helped! :)

I have a short pixie & love to wear my hair like this I use wrapping foam instead of gel....try it. I apply the wrapping foam to wet or dry hair & then tye it up & let it air dry.

So I've learned that the way my 4c is set up..I can't use water based gel...my barber said my curls got curls so it's curly from the roots so I found my edge control works better.. it's not edge control but it works well for it

this practically my go to everyday ...I can't just use gel alone I also have to use hairwax...and like 10 mins after am done my hair gets all frizzy and puffy...I have literally tried everything to make it slick all the way down but all any of the gels I use do is make my hair coils tighter

Nia Hope thank you....I tried this look last Thursday and it was an epic fail....I didn't use the same products as you did and my hair just refuse to cooperate....maybe it's too short or I need to change my products....the only result I got was that my curl pattern was a little more defined but it just refused to lay flat despite all the gel I used on my head....better luck next time hopefully... thank you

Sometimes the wrong or too much products can cause flaking and it's never fun when it happens so i feel for you!

There are a lot of products that eco doesn't mix well with. A good way to test it is to put a small equal amount of both products in your hands and rub them together- if it turns white, you'll get residue. If its clear, they'll work fine.

Esther Blue I agree, her hair looks more 4b. My front is 4b but my crown and back of my head are 4c and very kinky, so these regular gels never work for me... they just make my hair curlier. I use Murrays pomade or Ampro Pro Styl protein gel (the black one) if I have no Murray’s... those are the only two that effectively slick my hair down. The murrays is better though.

QUESTION : yu think it wud be okay to stretch out the gel by adding a cheaper hair lotion so thus when it dries up the gel will hold down the hair and the lotion at the same time VS. adding gobs of gel (do not get me wrong i know it is necessary) but just asking

+OMB Pies I think that could potentially work depending upon how curly your hair is. Typically you'd want to add a moisturizer prior to adding gel, but adding it with the gel might work

Yes it is. However gel is stronger/firmer in its hold. Maybe that's why she went with it.
