Very impressive work. I had a similar idea but the rail would be below the surface of the drive. What stopped me was the debris that may have collected in it causing problems.

Hello, we're grateful for the helpful guidance provided in your video on building a curved automated gate, and we've successfully sourced the necessary materials such as rollers and round bar. However, we've encountered an issue with our automated sliding gate where the end of the gate is lifting and causing the foot rollers to derail. We've attempted to troubleshoot the problem ourselves, but so far, we've been unsuccessful in identifying the root cause. Hello! I wanted to provide an update on our progress. We were able to identify and resolve the issues with our gate thanks to your helpful KZfaq video. Firstly, we noticed that the fixed end of the gate was much lighter compared to the 5 connecting curving gates. To address this, we added more tubular and plain sheet material to balance out the weight. Additionally, we added two more roller wheels to the fixed end of the gate for better stability. We're thrilled to report that these modifications have successfully resolved the issues we were experiencing. One important lesson we learned is the importance of following the design and weight specifications for the gate. In our case, the combination of tubular and plain sheet material made our gate heavier than expected, but we inadvertently copied the same design for the fixed end of the gate which made it much lighter than the others. Thank you again for your help, and we're grateful for the valuable knowledge we gained from this experience. I uploaded a short video so you can visualize :)

There are three major defects here: 1: at 10:55, the gate is too noisy. major sound come from the roller wheel when it sliding, I think it's because the angle bar a bit under size and the joint at turning area is too sharp, the roller wheel is hitting welding bolt when sliding. Especially compare to the test door at 2:43 which very quite. 2:at 4:25, you can see the top holder of gate, should use double plastic/rubber roller instead of flat holder to reduce noise. 3: at 5:17,the lock at left side only can be lock inside, can't be open outside. that is a bit inconvenient. Especially when family member lock the gate, but other members come back late, have to weak up the family member to open the lock.

Swivel wheel will be damaged in less than 1 year, then have to replace all at once coz other wheels are failing too. Derailment is a headache. Nice design but obviously not sustainable. I regret with mine, which is a half folding gate only.

LOL, if not locked at the end, you can simply lift it off the rails and push it inwards. Gate will fold a little and bracket will not hold it...
