Full live performance of Slightly Stoopid & Friends 'Live at Roberto's TRI Studio' webcast, recorded live on September 13, 2011. Get the music and gear at: www.slightlystoopid.com/live-...
Slightly Stoopid & Friends's 'Live at Roberto's TRI Studios' was performed live on September 13, 2011 and features Karl Denson, Ivan and Ian Neville of Dumpstaphunk, Don Carlos, Furthur's Bob Weir and hosted by Tommy Chong. It was an honor being invited by the Grateful Dead and Furthur's Bob Weir into his state of the art TRI Studios. Built by our friends at Meyer Sound Labs, and utilizing the technology of their new Constellation sound system, Slightly Stoopid had the privilege to invite some of their close friends and family down to "Roberto's" TRI clubhouse for an unprecedented live webcast and in-studio performance.
Our good friend Tommy Chong came down and hosted the event and provided some "Wisdom." Our extended family of musical guests joining us and playing on the session, features Karl Denson, Ivan and Ian Neville of Dumpstaphunk, Don Carlos, and Bob Weir himself! The result is a 31 song / 2 set acoustic and electric performance including behind the scenes rehearsal footage, and a rare interview segment moderated by Tommy Chong.
Last but not least, a portion of all proceeds will benefit 2 charitable organizations whom the band supports: Save the Children and World Food Programme.
Get the live performance in DVD, CD, vinyl, and digital audio direct from the band or through your favorite music dealer: www.slightlystoopid.com/live-...
About Slightly Stoopid:
As a musical brotherhood since 1995, Slightly Stoopid, led by the vastly versatile duo of Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, has expanded its fusion of rock, reggae, acoustic soul, hip hop, heavy metal, and punk rock, and achieved artistic freedom and commercial success while subscribing to their own DIY ethos. In the process, the talented collective has grown both onstage - from their original trio to a seven-piece ensemble - and as the generational forebearer of an immensely growing subculture and lifestyle movement.

My granddaughter was born 3mos. Premature, we were at Disneyland 400miles from home, she spent 98 days in the NICU I would sit and hold and listen to these guys all day long, she's 8.5yrs.old now and loves them &I catch her mumming and singing to herself all the time, she likes all kinds of music, it brings such great joy to me 😊

I simply cannot comprehend the fact that there's people who gives this dislikes! It's just so tight & toastin' horns that are all together in an energy whirlwind of perfection, giving us some of the sweetest tunes since Sublime! & it was Bradley Nowell who discovered this band while they were still in fuckin' school! But Bradley saw & heard that something truly special & a potential for epic things, so he signed 'em up to Skunk Records then & there, & helped guid them in their own sweet reggae sound, though obviously influenced by the great Sublime, Bob, Gratefull Dead etc, look at what a unique & downright legendary sound they grew into! Some truly inspiring shit with a following bprdering on fanatical in it's loyalty & devotion to them. So even if the music is somehow not ur thing, at least acknowledge the road they've travelled & the peeps they've so deeply inspired & at least give em some love for that! No need hfor hating & dislikes, there's so much more to the process than just a sound. Delve deeper & learn what a positive force they are before judging pls. Peace!

I am an old school baby boomer rock and roller ( Rush, Stones, Allman Bothers etc..) but consider myself “an any genres music lover”. Knew nothing of Slighty Stoopid till recently when a close friend was convinced that I would “like” them if I only looked into it. Thank goodness he recommended the idea. Great sound by a group that’s just having a riot playing music. Guess this 56 year old BOOMER is still evolving !!!!

ALL Very Cool guys, give so much back to the Community--Always a Large Local backstage Party happening at most Cali shows!! uncle Don Carlos--The "Apostle" of Reggae. they fondly call me "POPPA" ..old school 4th gen. OB//PL Local. many times, my Concert "Seat" is next to Paul's Keyboards< rolling & handing out ice cold brews, from the big 100 QT. Cooler I sit on

Same kinda boat here. Just stumbled across them one day playing "closer to the sun"... I must have restarted the song about 4 times before we even got to the half way mark. I was just so blown away by how it made me feel. It's like it was pulling from my dad's music days right through into mine. Then many years later I found out that they used to be punk. True art, I tell you, from the heart

word up. I know many people named Dick, no lie. I had a Sunday School teacher named Dick back in the 90s's. My brother's middle name is Dick. My great grandma came from a family of Mennonite Dicks who spelt it Dyck or in some countries Dueck. Apparently all Dicks have Mennonite lineage. I am Mennonite by ethnicity, secular by lifestyle. Growing up, my uncle Peter P. Dick wrote on his mailbox "PP Dick" . He was a skilled farmer like my father and most of my relatives whose parents were from Chortitza or Ukraine or Russia whatever the fuck Putin wants to call it lol

A recent discovery- SS is one talented, fun and eclectic band! This live performance is sensational. Love the fantastic reggae and jazzy vibe. The horns are epic. I am particularly happy and thrilled to see Don Carlos here- one of my fav classic reggae legends. More music please Slightly Stoopid!

I heard them on Pandora and got a couple songs from itunes. I thought they were just a modern reggae band. I was way off, they are a damn wrecking crew! So much talent in that small space! I needed this.

Kudos to the sound engineer and drummer, love this drum sound. Punchy but not too punchy on the kick and snare and nice beautiful cymbal decay.

Tommy and Bobby could definitely pass as brothers'..ha..I was introduced to this band by a late friend of mine Jeremy Ross aka "Rossta", "Rossta Safarianator", and finally "Rasta" in it's origin..What a beautiful soul he was and had such a feel for good tunes..Collie man was the first song on the play list..Thanks for this full video, it means a lot to me..

8/28/2020 WOW! I had heard the name of this band, but didn't know what kind of music. What a treat! And if there's horns🎷 you got me at hello. This has been such a strange year - this just made it so much better. I keep thinking if they were to roll out some giant speakers and blast some awesome music, maybe people would chill out and take a pause from the rioting and looting. Who doesn't love music? Blessings to all. 🎶😊💕🦋

Glad to see them show the part of a great show / concert, the audience doesn't get to see - the load-in , the set-up, the levels testing - all the hard work that goes into a performance. The musicians make it sound good - but the "roadies" , the "techs" - make it all work. And possible.
