slim boogie was the mvp easily. I think it really has to be perspective, knowledge, and choices that determine how good you become because people been dancing for so long and still not even close to slim.

Slim makes that shit look too easy, and the scary part is he is capable of SO MUCH MORE, but he only goes to the level of what is necessary in that particular moment and i respect it! I do like the topic of "CHOICES" and i feel "FLOW STATE" just FEELING the music, and allowing all the experience and growth you have develope just naturally FLOW THROUGH YOU! Its a lot of Mental-Notes and Logic while WATCHING, but when i watch people like Slim Boogie dance at such a high level. All of the groove/range/variety/choices that they naturally make is just the fruits of their labor from putting in countless hours! Shit is just like GOKU that has been in Countless fights since a child to finally get into that Ultra-Instinct/FLOW STATE! 😂🔥

Man, Slim can fit in so many details and intricacies into a few seconds of feeling out the beat. Alternating accents for the hats with shoulders, elbows and fingertips while having a confident swing in the arms. And all that while stepping, hitting the knees and doing them heel-toe variations.

This is Spider. That little wave he gave when he was moving forward? Nasty. Slim and Spider is a good pairing.

Felt bad for the other team. The audience was quiet but gave so much love to Spider and Slim. I must say Slim was blocking Seiya (judge) from seeing Spider dance.

_It's an entire process. Slim has risen from one of the least interesting dancers in my eyes to one of the most artistic and genuinely complex enigmas I've witnessed in Hip Hop; much like my opinion on Alex the Cage._ _These are dancers that completely understand the fundamentals and have mastered the areas of their craft enough to understand both themselves as well as the construction music. Their complexity stems from simplicity at it's most comfortable and convenient level, breaking the principles of general expectation and redefining the craft to suit their own intentions instead of demand._ _It requires being able to listen through someone elses ears, and abandon your own inhibitions when it comes to our own opinions of dance- adapting musicality to understand new perspectives and possibilities._ _We take a watercolor painting and recreate it with oil pastel. The concept is the same, but the approach has nuances that separate it completely from what was presented before._ _The level of detail and progression are just unreal, and it displays complete freedom as opposed to the mold. His commitment and smoothness are also equally impressive. He becomes a different kind of instrument, and it's simply fascinating to study._

Spider was dope but Slim his round was insane, no lag consistant transitions throughout the whole round, i don't even know how this is possible...His level of mastery and ease is unique

Slim is my favorite dancer on the planet, and his understanding of movement and music ceases to amaze me, but what he was doing was NOT hip-hop freestyle. What a LOT of high level dancers are doing now isn't hip-hop freestyle anymore. Junior Yudat, Stalamuerte, Rubix, even Evion... they're dope and they're pushing the boundaries of the dance, but in their more recent rounds, it has gotten to a point where they're no longer doing hip-hop freestyle anymore. Just like every one of these street and club dance styles, there is a foundation and a subculture that encompasses what those styles are, and it is what differentiates them from each other. Once we start forgetting about tradition and context, we start to blur these lines. We've had a category for that for a minute that was referred to as "freestyle" without any of the foundational dances attached (some refer to this as all-styles or open styles nowadays). I think it's great to have that. But once these lines are blurred after a certain point, it makes it hard to preserve the history and the culture of those individual styles so that new/future generations of dancers have a good representation of that particular style. I think it's dope to innovate, and Slim is a champion of innovation within popping and freestyle dance culture. But you're not innovating if you're not giving respect first to the foundations of the dance and the culture, and judging from this battle + from what he has said about his experience with hip-hop on his socials, he's not there yet. Even with his extensive amount of experience in the general freestyle dance scenes and in the popping scene, a new venture is a new venture. I don't think it's fair to just let people jump ahead and give them flowers before they actually put in any work, simply because they have a high status in the general scene. If we allow that, we're teaching the newer generation that props are easy to get, and that won't allow them the chance to have to experience a lot of what it means to come up in the culture.
