I really hate to break this to y'all, but when they find out their both Japanese souls is fer from accurate. You see, when rimuru hears a language he wouldn't normally know, his magic sense ability, which is controlled and monitored by great sage, will automatically translate it for him. And, especially when in his slime form, when h speaks, his voice is translated into the person's most fluent language. (Btw, this is only true in some cases, some versions and sources have said otherwise.)

It both upsets me and makes me happy that rimuru being a slime didn't come up. On one hand i'm glad that it wasn't just randomly thrown in with the reason of "just because I can", but on the other hand it would have been a really funny conversation if you could work it in smoothly.
