The point, however, is that even without any power tools, skilled craftsmen can make exquisite wooden slingshots with the simplest hand tools. Maybe it reflects the DIY style better,lol. The jealousy that fills my soul regarding the sharpness of his tools is immeasurable. I truly don’t know that you can buy any metal in the USA affordably that can be sharpened in that manner that holds its edge that long

Not just the metal his technique and how he uses his entire spine and thrusts his body with high precision

Are you nuts? Go to a local machine shop and ask if they have any “drops” for sale. Or better yet buy some tool steel for a lathe or shaper, some Rex AAA will cut that wood for months without losing its edge.

@@DoorDashHere I’ve made some great knives out of farriers rasps. They look great and hold an edge forever. For handles I’ve used walnut, oak, elk and deer antler, and a burl off of a Russian olive tree. The burl is my favorite.

Oh its here. You have to get spring steel or something harder than the average stuff but it's definitely here and affordable.

Looks fairly hard but tools are razor sharp because he isn't applying that much force and it's doing a lot
