What's with the negativity towards Space Mountain? The thing is admittedly rough, but it feels so much faster than 27 mph, and has one of the highest throughputs I've ever seen. One of the more underrated roller coasters in Florida

It’s rugged and it somewhat hurts. It’s also super dark. The queue was better than the ride.

The thing to take away from all this is that a roller coaster does not have to be hyper fast and intense to be good. You hit it on the head that this ride is all presentation. It is perfect. And perfect for Disney.

So allegedly, Slinky Dog Dash is not operating at its top speed, Disney had to slow it down to keep the heigh requirement at 38" . That's why it barely makes it over the hill at the second launch (It has experienced rollbacks before) and there's no airtime on the hills.

If I’m right, this is actually the first Disney coaster that isn’t manufactured by Vekoma EDIT: I’m wrong. Very, very wrong. Big Thunder Mountain in Florida was done by Arrow Dynamics and by Dynamic Structures in California, Goofy’s Sky School in California was done by Mack Rides, California Screamin’/Incredicoaster is Intamin, Matterhorn Bobsleds in California is Arrow Dynamics, Primeval Whirl in Florida is Reverchon, Space Mountain in Florida is Arrow Dynamics, and Space Mountain in California is Dynamic Attractions.

4:57 WHATTTTT!!!!!!!! Yes Space Mountain is kind of rough, but it is an old ride!!! The bumpiness Of The Ride is why I really like Space Mountain!!! I wouldn’t call it a painful kind of bumpy, but I’d call it a loveable kind!!!

I think I'm the only one who thinks that WDW's Space Mountain wouldn't be as fun if it were smooth. The bumps enhance the experience so much. You feel like your just flying at light speed, especially if you go front row. I also love the historical aspect of it. The lack of updates makes it feel very 60s, and that sense of age really wins me over vs the DL version. I like DL's version a lot, but it lacks the soul that the WDW one has.

Great review, like you said, it was a needed addition to the park; but I think the new Tron coaster will serve the entire resort better because it’s way more thrilling.

Tron is AMAZING. Personally I kinda wish it was only at Shanghai if only to get people to want to go there just for the exclusitivity at the park, because honestly the park is a rather cookie cutter version of other Disney parks, but Shanghai will always have Pirates of the Carribean which is the greatest dark ride created. It's funny, Tron in Florida will have minimum 90 minute waits while the couple times I have been to Shanghai it was usually 5 - 10 minute waits.

fun times with Tom I get it, Tron is awesome at Shanghai, and it would nice to just have it exclusively there, but the minute fans here saw it, Disney knew they could make money off of it in the US. As for Shanghai Disneyland itself, I would argue it’s the least “cookie cutter” castle park of them all. No Main Street, no Frontierland, a twist on Adventureland, etc. No doubt Shanghai needs more unique rides, and was some what disappointed when they went down the Toy Story Land quick fix route.

luciano AC yes and he is someone who loves coasters and has rode and reviewed family coasters before. He even liked lots of family coasters so just because it’s a family coaster doesn’t mean you can’t do an in depth review on it.

Slinky Dog Dash was the surprise hit of my recent trip in June. This ride exceeded my expectations! Super fun if you keep in mind that it's a family coaster. Loved the lights at night

Toy Story Land is so phoned in. Star Wars: The Galaxy's Edge better not be a let down. People don't go to Disney for the intensity of the rollercoasters and thrill rides. They go for the theming and immersive experience. Toy Story Land is weak. Disney is capable of so much more. The best lands at Disney are Pandora, Asia and Africa (at DAK) and New Orleans Square at Disneyland. I guess if you count the World Show Case as a land then that is probably the best. But going to Disney for the coasters themselves (if you disregard theming) is a bad choice. Better to check out Sea World or Busch Gardens Tampa for serious rollercoasters in the area.

Did you ride towards the front or the back? If you sit in the front there’s a little bit of floater airtime after the second launch though I still wish it was a little more aggressive

Zachary Mehrtens it wasn’t actually that bad though I’d imagine if you are shorter it might be a little hard to see. I’ve ridden front middle and back and it doesn’t really obstruct the view more than having another row in front of you. I found zero airtime in the back and three floater airtime moments in the front so to me the front is worth it.
