Those kids wrote the best guitar compositions...it fit perfectly inbetween emo, indie, and grunge...no other bands did that as well as Slint

Still blows my mind just how young they were when they wrote and recorded Spiderland.

@@richuar yeah...it's simultaneously too advanced for most kids to write, while also being the kind of music that only kids could write lol

How does it fit between those genres?

@@lucaswallo8127 I feel it’s the best description. The clean arrangements resembles on the indie 90s stuff, voice is complete emo and distorted sections are totally grunge.

Every time I pick up my guitar I find myself playing these riffs, there’s something hypnotic about them.

Slacker, Its Alvin. You covered Vernon jackson "chamber of the unicorn" (i played the drums on that original recording) @3:45 on this track OMG dude! I love to see you still rocking to all my fav bands. a minor forest, slint and all the good shit! . This dude jason noble from Louisville KY (same as slint) He was in this supergroup Rodan from the 90s, You might already know his work. Died of cancer. It was Jason and this dude Jeff Mueller (he plays the big hollow body guitar) he makes sounds with that guitar that come once in a million years! You should cover some of their stuff. Some great Rodan songs (listen to "Gauge" "bible silver corner" and " "Before the Train" and "Big Things, Small Things" (after Rodan broke up he and jeff went to other bands. Jason was in Rachels and Jeff was in this band called june of 44 but they were not nearly as good as Rodan was. Then they formed this other amazing band "shipping News" and got back together. there is a song called "quiet victories" that would be right up your alley. There is a mosh part in the song that has a lot of disonnace and feedback you would love! Another song I think you would love is "Louven" and "untitled with drums" Check them out and you might be inspired. Keep up the amazing work! Hope you are well!
