Sure, there have been issues, but it's not realistic to think unqualified people who were legally excluded from opportunities due to apartheid will be up to the task overnight. Experience counts and that will take time. Nobody said this would be easy. Hopefully with this new GNU at the helm thiings will improve remember Rome was not built in a day. Many countries that you might consider run by qualified, competent people also have their own issues.

Screw that lazy common denominator thought - that is just lazy. Everyone is taking the same oath, there's no extension to it when translated into vernac. It would have been even more beautiful to have it in everyone's mother tongue.

Which language would you use? I don't use my mother tongue at work. It's ok. I appreciate and am grateful that there is a common language for all of us. English is lingua franca. Many South Africans are multi lingual. Smart people interested more in communicating that personal language. Just my thoughts. Goodwill to you.
