Of all the videos I have watched on upholstering furniture this one makes the most sense to me.

Nice job. I have two tips to keep it tight fitting. one is velcro sewn to to the IA/OA seam with a velco just rough hand sewn to the chair to recieve it. the other is to cut 3 fat dowels that will push into the IA and IB that meet with the deck/seat. then make a pocket with a long tail for dowels to fit. squash them in there. then you have a "tack rail" that you can pin to and machine as normal. it gives a great fit and almost eliminates the loose cover look when used. also reduces kick pleats sagging when sat on.

WOW!!! You are Over-And-Above, Absolutely, Without A Doubt, Honestly-And-Sincerely, a Queen Among Upholsters!!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤ In one video, you have taken AT LEAST 30 years of me never making a slipcover because i knew if i tried (and i did) all i would do is waste beautiful fabric, and just thrown that disastrous thought of Never making a slipcover and all my private angst about ever trying again, not only iut the window, but out of this solar system! The word AMAZING is not large enough for you. Genius comes closer, but it just pales in comparison to all you are. I sound ridiculous, but I'm serious. NOBODY ever suggested or used your method and I am blown away. You madeit look so simple, so perfectly easy, that i sat here and watched what for you was straightforward, like pouring out a glass of water. The last time i tried, on avery simple wingback chair, I ended up sewing the seam at the top of the chair to the side panel for one wing. The time before that, i ended up tearing both the seams where the arm and the back meet. The time before THAT...well, the stupid goes oon and on. Each time a disaster and then making a quilt out of a beautiful fabric. Ive cut too close, ripped fabric, sewn one piece to the wrong piece. All the videos, al. The upholsfery classes, and i find myself wishing fervently that you had made this video 30 years (and soooo much frustration 30 years ago. Your approach, your method, doesnt use a slide rule or trigonometry to achieve a great slipcover and a great fit, just common sense. By golly, you gave me hope and courage to try again and using your method, i can see EASILY that even a chair ( or sofa) with a bewildering number of angles that needed a couple hundred miles of welting can be easily done. And i could even add embellishments. I wil Sacrifice, in your honor, a Kentucky Fried Chicken...I will dance at your weddin'....i will erect a statue to your greatness in the park...and thanks to you, i now will go make a slipcover for everything in my house except that one tiny mouse i cant catch. For your wonderful instruction , again, i thank you, from the depths of my soul, i honor your wisdom and i am soooo glad you made a video for the likes of us Upholstery-Challenged wimps!😂❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for the video! I did a slip cover using your tutorial, and it worked very well. Mine isn't nearly as lovely as yours, but much better than I expected, and was easily able to adapt your instructions to my chair. You are a wonderful instructor.

Loved it! Thank you! it's the first tutorial where you can start at the front, often the most difficult area. AND you had your piping ready, something that is often left to the end. And I loved the idea of a zipper too. Now I am less afraid of trying it. Greetings from Australia.
