Eloy is easy to spot, even with a mask. When he drums heavy he leans forward and shrugs his shoulders. His posture will give it away. We'll see. 💪

It's one chance deal, Eloy would never leave sepultura if they haven't announce the end of the band, since there was no long future for him in Sepultura, if he picked Slipknot, it was a wise choice for his career, we as fans, have to respect his decision.

Definitely i agree with @keithpratti1849 If he played with Sepultura on this "farewell" tour he would have a job for the next 18 months, but for slipknot he would have a job for at least couple of years so in the long term he did the right choice job/money wise. Personal wise? It's up to him to figure out if he did the right choice in a soul search. Good luck to him and im hyped to see him play for slipknot 💪🏿

Not to mention Jay is a giant primadonna, asking for his bandmates to move out of the way on stage so people could get a clear view of him.. needing special treatment because of who his daddy is, etc. He's a giant tool.

Sepultura guys sound pissed. But maybe he wasn't ready for the end that they planned. This seems like a case where an employee finds a better job after the employer says we're shutting the company down at the end of the year, expecting everyone to go along with it. Also I'm sure there are strong NDA's involved that precluded them being forewarned.

Honestly... I don't think it's possible dude. I mean Jay filled out Joey's parts way too well. He got a lot of his mannerisms down pat and as a drummer myself, that is damn near impossible because no two people are the same. Disappointed with what was done to both Joey and Jay, so for me, I just don't know if it's even possible at this point.

@@bryancenterfitt7127 You're right that no 2 drummers are the same, but it's weird so many people are ignoring Slipknot and their crew calling Jay out for being an underperforming Hollywood nepo brat? I personally thought at first that it was strange firing him, but the more I looked into it, that's what I found. I don't get it... but I don't begrudge you your opinion. You can look at any of the drum cams Jay posted himself recently and hear for yourself that he's absolutely not playing at anything approaching a Joey Jordison/Slipknot level though. He's quite badly off in most of them. If you don't hear it... I'm not sure you're advanced enough as a drummer, anyone who has played any metal at all will hear him waver tempo and rush drastically, butcher fills... it's kind of crazy he was like "yep, these are the cuts to post.", mind you, this is all well after he was fired. Slipknot has their issues as a band, but they get a lot of hate they don't deserve, especially with the Joey (RIP) situation.

That's prolly why Eloy dipped, Andreas decided he wanted to retire just as Sepultura reached peak popularity again since the 90ties and the other members went with it, Eloy absolutely had no say in it.

I think in this case, the situation regarding Slipknot having a new drummer is different from how everything unfolded when Jay joined the band. Back then, we all believed that Joey had left the band until later it turned out that he was actually fired, and basically betrayed. Now I think it's a different scenario since we know that Jay was fired just like Joey, and it was a very disloyal move by the band.Jay being so active on social media and so transparent with his followers really helps to provide a clearer picture of how the owners/leaders of the band handle things. I don't think Eloy will be harshly criticized like Jay was, because in the metal community, practically everyone respects Eloy, and we know that the consequences of Slipknot's decisions won't be his fault. That said, it's very sad that he left Sepultura just like that, I really hoped he would be a bit more professional about it. But well, we'll never really know how things are privately within the band.

I think slipknot want these members to be a secret and not even be exposed for the entire time in the band because they don't want to give new members the leverage for when it comes to renegotiating their deals with the band as fanfair leads to an infinity for members and it financially can hurt the pockets of other employees. Look at the example of the backlash that happened when joey got kicked out back in a time when social media wasn't as erratic.

Dude.. you have no idea how many times I've had to explain to people about how Joey was shit on! Of course, Jay was done the same way so it's not surprising! Personally, I don't think Slipknot will be around much longer as a band. They've already lost 4 original members who were key to the writing process and sound of the music overall, then booted the one drummer that actually was able to keep the sound very similar to the original drummer and that is next to impossible to do.. speaking as a musician ( drummer) and a fan.

Eloy has a very noticeable drum set and drumming style, I wonder if they will try to hide it, with maybe a new setup or if they just let him be himself because everyone already kinda knows. (If he is the new drummer that is) And given his distinct drumming style I think people will instantly know anyways.

Eloy is a short, very strong guy. His playing style is very unique, mainly because of his strength. It's going to be very easy to know that it's him as soon as he gets on stage.

Honestly, I've been over wanting to go see Slipknot but if Eloy joins- I'd go just to watch him. That dude joining could be the breath of fresh air that they need. (No offense to Jay, the dude is obviously incredible in his own right.)

I find it interesting that Eloy was one of the first to give Jay a “It’ll be alright post” after his dismissal from Slipknot, when he probably knew that he was joining all along. Not that he owes them anything but he could’ve stuck out the final tour, then joined Slipknot. Especially since he’s been rehearsing with Sepultura all this time for it. And how could Sepultura not know he was joining, when the internet has been speculating he was, for the last few months. It’s a little weird to me but my guess is, Corey and Clown want him to start recording with them asap.

I thing Eloy got invited to SlipKnot, so the Sepultura decided to do the last tour prior Eloy left, but somehow SlipKnot needed Eloy right now, and he departed.

Too bad it ended like this but I'm glad that Sepultura found a drummer who can replace Eloy, which is not easy considering how amazing he is. He's not just a "typical" metal drummer, he is on a higher level. If Slipknot is looking for a different sound, they will definitely find it with Eloy.
