Yes, indeed. But right know I think Corey is having a bad time on these last shows, sounding as good as he has, I hope its just being tired (it happens to us, singers), but he has a long run on this year and hopefully he can get enough rest for these type of shows. 1:51 as "proof".

Well, I've seen many people calling Eloy slow and that they're all playing slowly, that's not the case, now they're playing as close to the original as possible! In this video they play this song in 4min and 18s, the original has 4min and 20s, in Download F. 2019 they played in 4min and 06s, in Resurrection F. 2023 they played in 4min and 07s. Now the band is playing in correct time, just facts.

Eloy is a true musician! People who say it's slow have probably never seen a metronome in their lives! The most fundamental things for a professional musician worldwide are knowing how to read sheet music, knowing how to play various musical genres, and knowing how to play with the metronome. Eloy does it all! Anyone who doesn't agree is probably an idiot fan who has never picked up an instrument. The difference between Eloy and the previous drummers is huge! Just pay attention as Corey sings better now! Corey is breathing because the songs are in the beat!

slow? hahahaha Eloy has NO problem playing (MUCH) faster (and LOUDER!) and being consistent in tempo/bpm. Clearly the band decided to make them slower and with more groove (thanks Eloy!) than in the past.

Exactly, it's notable that all the instruments are working more calmly on their riffs and have time for improvisations, not to mention that Corey is singing without running over the phrases, I love Joey with all my heart but he and his replacement Jay made the band run too much, who has If you doubt it, watch the Dynamo 2000 show, Joey literally ran desperately and worse, Jay ran even more.

I feel like Jay was the perfect successor to Joey in terms of live shows, considering Joey's health issues, but Eloy is the perfect successor to play drums with Slipknot overall. He'll be able to move their sound forward.

Joey was clock steady, and he demonstrated it in all the collabs outside of the Slipknot cycle. Stop justifying the fact that Jay was bad for the band by dragging in the reason why this band exist.

My question is if Jay was supposedly out of tempo everytime and shit felt too fast, why wasnt this address before ? Everybody kept riding Jay and now all of the sudden its the opposite. Eloy is amazing yes but why all of the sudden is jay was out of tempo etc ?

Jay was really bad for the band. Every time someone said it we were "gatekeepers" and "Joey fanboys"...now that the band changed drummer the same suckers say that Joey was rushing live...these people know nothing of live music, band dynamics and the situation under wich certain performances were made. Slipknot always played their songs faster live, and that's a band decision like Iron Maiden do, Metallica used to do and many other bands do...to keep the concert tight, to create a live sound...sometimes you just feels it needs to go faster, not everything is prog rock. The issue why jay was not good is that he was losing tempo during fills or whenever tried something that wasn't standard down tempo. Songs like Disasterpieces have fills which require up speed and down speed changing accent while keeping the tempo and Jay was really bad at it. But fanboys would never come down to terms with reality. Now that Eloy is onboard the past is shit because that's how they come to terms with their reality. I personally think that Joey is still the GOAT, because nothing written after him being out of the band is at level of what him and Paul brought to the band. Jay was not a good fit, he wasn't mature enough and you can't shift from punk/pop/rock music to nu-metal all of a sudden, Joey had influences in various thrash metal and jazz drummers and studied them for years plus the generatyion divide in the band was and is real. Eloy is great live, super technical, able to give again the feel and the power to the beats recreating the wall of sound which Slipknot were famous for before Joey went sick and started using triggers live (hear Disasterpieces vs the Download 2008 performance and you will hear a whole world of difference)...but there is still that generation divide so I am hopeful he will fit with the band and will be able to compose at the best of his abilities, because he's good, he loved nu metal, he loved Joey and he's able to play this type of music. That's all I think there is to say, these fanboys have no clue.

Man, it's so weird hearing this song (it was my introduction to Slipknot) not being played by Jay, but rather by one of my top favorite drummers ever. I like Eloy's take on this. I wouldn't say I prefer it, but here you can definitely hear the differences in styles between the two. Eloy's rendition of this feels a lot closer to what Joey may have written for a tune like this. But it also moreso feels like an Eloy take on the song rather than being completely faithful to how Jay did it. Which is cool. I like the little added fill in the second verse. But it definitely feels different.

Jay nao aguentava mais tocar as músicas originalmente. Cansava e improvisava trechos. Saia muito do tempo e errava demais Eloy é infinitamente melhor que Jay. Ele toca no tempo, igual a versao original e pode tocar qualquer estilo musical. Eloy e um baterista completo!
