The heaviest part for me is when Corey keeps saying "I won't let this build up inside of me". Constantly struggling not to think about someone you can't have, forcing yourself to let her go, knowing that beneath every layer of your soul she will still be there no matter how hard you try to forget her. You can't run away from it, it's in your head, it's in your heart, and it hurts, a lot. You know you should move on, but you're stuck in a limbo of hope that maybe, some day, you will actually get her love. But no, it just won't happen, you're dead sure. So you fight. You fight hard against yourself. Against your instincts, against your own will, and the net result is just you getting weaker and weaker every day. And you keep telling yourself... "I won't let this build up inside of me"... Even though you know there's nothing you can do to make it stop.

Maybe I am being too much of a music nerd herr.This song is tuned in standard tuning. At least it sounds like the guitarist is picking the first two sttings in standard tuning, but it's usually metal ballads that tune the strings lower.

This was my late Husband & I’s first dance together as a married couple. It was the most beautiful moment I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. I softly sang “won’t let this build up inside of me” while he sang “she..isn’t real….” He committed suicide March, 2nd, 2018. It took me 5 years to even think of listening to this song & I finally got up the nerve about a week ago to listen to it and I’m really glad I did. Even though I ball hysterically every single time, it’s some stuff that obviously needed to come out. R.I.P. Shaun Stephen- I miss you more than words, thoughts, or emotions can ever put a label on. ❤😢

My wife left me in may, right when covid popped off here. I lost my job as a school bus driver at the same time. She took my one year old baby boy away from me. Left me nearly homeless. This song really digs deep. I still love her, and I miss my baby. Losing someone you love really hurts. Especially when you give them your best. I love you carrie. More than you'll ever know. Thanks everyone for your replies. The woman in the video when she is flying is basically a metaphor for a memory. You think about it, and then dont, that's why she went back on the ground, because the memory was over.

This song always hits me so hard, a few years ago I, by complete coincidence, met a girl online. We spoke every day and shared everything about our lives with each other. The first time I heard this song when it came out, it perfectly expressed the pain I felt going through so much abuse and the constant desire to end my life. In my head, every time I was close to the edge, I would hear the line "I won't let this build up inside of me." It gave me that little bit of strength to make it to the next day. So many years later and I am still here, able to feel worthwhile and always trying my best to bring light to others trapped in the same darkness I was. This song was the flame that helped guide my way through the darkness, and I will be forever grateful for that.

I first heard this during one of the hardest and most depressing times of my life - it had so much feeling in it and evoked such strong waves of emotion from me, to the extent that I'd tear up listening to it at times. Generally only at the end of my saddest, most depressing days. But this song is amazing, it's songs like this that I remember the most - these are the kinds of songs that take me back to my dark days, but in a good way. Hard to explain, but I know someone out there will understand.

I always play the heavier/faster slipknot tracks but then I listen to this and think "wow they're so much more". Their art is conveying/identifying with feelings through music. This song makes you FEEL.
