This is #alternativeracing.
There are no borders on our racing program this season - from Kansas to the KOM Challenge in Taiwan, the team is breaking the traditional road racing mold.
We started in Emporia, Kansas with the Garmin Dirty Kanza. One day. Two hundred miles of racing, most of it on gravel. More than two thousand people.

I was in a local mtn bike race last night, my zone five for a third and zone 4 for the other 2/3. Last lap this dude sent it and I said the same, dude if you can go now, you win! He won. Cooked

I've followed road racing my whole life and this race (and now the EF report!) is perhaps in the top 5 events of the year I look forward to the most! It is worthy to note this race mimics in a sense how the Tour began.

This video is amazing. To me having the riders describe what the race was like is the best part about it. It would be amazing to get that same type of feedback from regular races as well. Lachlan is a very gifted story teller.

Not even finished and this episode is so awesome. From the start I loved that music! Set the tone perfectly! Lachlan's "mate I cracked ages ago?" Hilarious. This episode is the epitome of what I hoped for when you all announced the alternative races and partnership with Rapha. So very well done. Took me way too long to get around to watching this one though haha.

I love this video! This team! Amazing. I’m curious the bikes they rode. I saw they were cannondale. But, which one? I rode in a local race and used my road bike with my every day tires. I was completely fine. Some parts were washboardy. But I think wider tires could help. I’m not sold in a gravel bike yet. I think I’ll ride my road till I reach a path I can’t ride

I raced the event in 2019 and there was a lot of talk about EF being there. Most of the comments were very negative. Especially surrounding the fact they bailed before the awards ceremony to hit their next event. I think there would be more support and acceptance from the "community" if they took a little extra time to mix it up with the regular racers there after the event. For example, at La Ruta in Costa Rica there were lots of pros racing too, but they were at the same group dinners and hanging out at the same after race party. I remember chatting with Tinker Juarez on the bus back to the airport and it still makes me smile to this day. Pros at amateur events? Kick our asses sure, but how about taking the time to break bread or have a beer with us too.

Why even ref the Tour at the start? Every cycling region in the world has these kind of ultimate events, usually unique to the region for climate, landscape/ roads etc. Appreciate it for what and where it is, not for what it isn't.
