i remember this one completely. durant had great night, maybe he showed a better performance than he usually did in the NBA games then, unfortunately against us. whenever he took a 3 pts, he made it. well, maybe if he had missed two of them, the result might have been different. it was good enough for my country to play in the final anyway.

As long as we take international tournaments seriously and continue to have a quality committed team, USA Basketball will keep winning. The 2008 Olympic Gold Medal and the 2010 FIBA World Championship title showed that we are fully adapted to the International game as well. We're a much more all-around team now.

Any of you Turks ever see the game from 1995 where Magic Johnson played a Turkish team over there? He went around the world playing games with a team of old retired NBA players, a lot of them were his fellow Laker teammates. There was a game he sent to OT at the buzzer in Australia that was great. This Turkey game, though, is my favorite. I have it in my game collection, I haven't uploaded a clip of it yet. It was a fun game. You Turkish fans loved him. He was doin all his no look passing shit and faking defenders out. There was a time where a Turkish player stole a no look pass he tried to make and the crowd roared and Magic laughed and clapped and gave the guy a "high-5" (hand slap) when the ball was dead. There was a play where they were running up court and Magic got to the 3 pt arc and a Turkish player running behind him thought he was going to shoot a 3 so Magic knew he was behind him and he put the ball up with one hand as a fake and the defender flew by him. Crowd was laughing. Then during a timeout, Earvin went to midcourt and was gettin the crowd to stand up and cheer and he was throwing his fist. Damn that was funny. I've never see ANY crowd give Earvin more of a cheer than the Turks. Finally at the buzzer, Magic threw in a halfcourt shot as easy as could be and the Turks roared again. Only Magic could get a crowd up like that, period. Not even Jordan. You guys would've liked to have seen Mike too, but he wasn't that kinda friendly personality. Magic was THE GREATEST All-Star game, pickup game, preseason game, charity game, foreign league appearance game entertainer EVER. There's no comparison. He was able to give any crowd their money's worth. He did all the stuff they wanted to see and I've seen him hit shots at the buzzer for wins or halfcourt shots all the time. He could do that over and over. I don't know how. He really was magic. He lived up to that nickname.

At Olympia it will be very interesting too see Spain vs US and A. On the important Center and PF positions ist Spain better positioned. The Gasols, Ibaka and in the backhand Vasquez. And also the spanish guards are very strong. Especially Navarro. Also Rubio, Calderon and Fernandez. It will be such exciting like the last finals

People don't realize how much better Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and the rest of those guys are now than they were back in the 2009-2010 season. Keep in mind that they were all 21 or 22 years old (I mean the young guys that are superstars now). The scary thing is they are still not in their prime yet.

Come on Turkey fans admit that this team was very underestimated.

Turkish team was tired because less than 24 hours ago, they played an incredible semi final and won against Serbia, while the US team had one extra day to rest and get ready for the game. You can see that Turks play well at the beginning but cannot show the same effort towards the end. Racist comments here are disgusting. Turkey has 4/5 NBA level players in the squad with a well mixture of young and old and you have to pay respect to them that they deserve.
