You helped me and it worked. I am soooo grateful. My gear was frozen in drive or neutral only😢 after following your instructions, it worked🙏🏽🙏🏻👏🏼

I think there might be something to this. I rally my 350 a lot during the summer and I’ve noticed this fall when I come to a traffic light and the car downshifts it’s been rougher than normal. I figured I’d try this pretty simple troubleshoot and I think it worked. Might be worth 5 minutes of your life. Good luck.

Great video. I'm going to try this today because mine as just got stuck in first gear for some reason. It wouldn't change out of first gear in drive. I turned off the car and back on again and now back to perfect. Hoping this will sort it out. I've only had the car 2 week and done this twice since ownership. Love the car.

Love my 2004 350. Like to swap my cars regularly because we pass through life only once but my 350 is a keeper. This is a good tip. My personal tip after 7 years of ownership is find a fuel that suits it. I'm in the UK and mine definitely runs best on the Shell good stuff. The ESSO and BP good stuff are lumpy in comparison here but that'll change around the world.

Just out of curiosity have you ever had the issue where the car will stay in first gear in drive? I'm hoping this will reset it in some way and not do it anymore. My sensors just stopped beeping too so thinking some electrical short if some kind doing both.

@@PCG2022 No, I've never had an issue with the gears. One one or two occasions I've accidentally nudged the stick across and inadvertently selected first when stationary. Obviously the car remains in first until put back into auto or second is manually selected. That's been my fault and nothing to do with the car. Hope you get this one resolved! Best wishes.

@@veritasvincit2745 Thank you for fast response. I know what you mean but this hasn't been my issue (haven't knocked it). I mainly drive in C and D and twice its done when I've pulled off. Just stuck in first. So I pull over turn the car off and back on and then its fine. I'm just out now. Done the reset and drove to pick partner up from work, so guess its time now to see if it does it again after reset. Hopefully it won't. Thanks once again for response. Not many do. 😉

This is the drive by wire throttle adaptation reset process I think. Yes it still makes a difference and should be done with a change in driving style. Gearbox adaptation reset needs a code scanner and then the gearbox will not relearn driving style but rather clutch activation in up and down shifts at various speeds. This needs to be done after any major work on the gearbox including a fluid change.

I tried doing this then he said let it sit for 5 mins I’m cooking in the car rn

Hey, 5 mins might be longer than necessary but you need to be patience for all components to “shut down” to allow the “reset” to be acknowledged

This is all nonsense the transmission does not adjust to driver style. Don’t spread misinformation

It works I've done it a couple of times in my SL500. It's electronic transmission controlled. So the computer gets reprogrammed to shift back to factory mode.
