SORRCA Scale competition 2018 class 2 and 3 RC Crawling competition part2
Here is the second part of RC Rock crawler competition! There were a lot of drivers who are starting out to who are absolute veterans! The competition course was mild on class 2 except for last 2 gates and fearsome on class 3.
I included scoring as well for those who are unfamiliar with the driving rules. It will be divided into multiple videos because of sheer amount of footage. Please subscribe for upcoming videos!

I really like how you explain the penalties along with the points assigned to them. Makes it easier for a mouth breather like me to learn the rules lol

I am glad it helped you in any way. I was very intimidated before I got into competition crawling but once I jumped in, it became so addictive. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

Nice driving driver!! That darn Gen1 rear axle hanging you up on that gate #5. I get it though, need Gen1 axles for the OD/UD options. Check out Team Garage Hacks OD/UD transmission providing synchronous rotation with OD/UD options right out of the transmission!!

Thought in class three you can only choose dig or 4steer? Looked like the tuber dug sliding down the pipe. Awesome rigs and video.

+eric rush yes you can only use one or the other. The tuber used 4ws only on that course.

I see a lot of vids labeled class 2.5...? What does that mean? I've only ever known of class 1, 2 and 3

So some clubs made 2.5 class to run box stock trucks. This club used it the other way around (2 for box stock truck and 2.5 for modified). Generally, class 2 is modified truck class by sorrca rules.

I don’t have access to the score sheet. The head honcho Stephen Richardson is the guy you want to talk to. Since the series is over and the prizes are all given out, I doubt they will post the score. I’m only a video guy 😂

Briefly, minus is good and plus is bad You get 0 to -50 (for class 2 and 3) points for your build - generally more negative means heavier on top thus less capable. progress thru the gates = -2 reverse = +1 touching gate marker = +10 roll over = +5 vehicle touch = +10 wrong direction thru gates = +10 self recovery = +3 (winch, sand ladder and ) assisted recovery = +10 (towing and etc) DIG/rear steer = +5 (recently this has been removed) Detail can be found here: sorrca.com/rules.php

Whst is a 2.5 class crawler?

For this event only Box-stock class was C2 and modified(normally C2) was called 2.5. It caused some confusion

They should have turned left in our sights in there sights they should have turned right so they could climb easier and not winch out... Just saying.

It was very tricky line. The drivers were well experienced and the most had to winch up. You’re right that you get better approach angle in a little bit of side angle instead of straight ahead
