Actually the part in the bone is bone marrow, it's tastes really good,it's soo rich.That is my favorite part

let me just warn you people though, do not eat this on a regular basis, bone marrows contain an extraordinary amount of cholesterol, which rivals that of a greasy fast food burger (but in return, it gives a decent amount of nutrition, not a lot, but enough to make it worth it to consume)

I'm American and I love bone marrow! Its a steal of a deal, most grocery stores will give it to you for free and if they charge, they usually only charge it as "Dog Treat". I pay 2 dollars for a full femur cut lengthwise at a local grocery store. I use to get funny faces until THEY started eating it and now there is a regular amount of people in my area who eat it. Put a little olive oil, sea salt maybe shallots/chives and bake, put it on bread, cook it in your cabbage, or eat it by itself. If you don't like Rib-eye or Porterhouse steaks, then you probably wont like the taste.

Imagine if you start eating and your dog look at you like Um? When was this?..

Are you KIDDDDDDING MEEEEE?!?! I AM FROM CELJE AND I HAVE HEARD OF STARI PISKER BUT I NEVER KNEW THEY HAD THIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Sorry but this was a shock to me when they said my hometowns name. It's such a small town! It's surprising to see my not so known around the world town. I live in Nova vas (literally meaning New village) and there are alot of residential places and the old town (in the south east) is where the Stari pisker is located, near the children museum, next to the entrance.

There is a stew here in the Philippines called bulalo. The bone marrow is also eaten. Ay que rico!

I love bone marrow but high in cholesterol. Just once or twice a year. My husband is European and I learned from him about bone marrow, pig brains, lamb and beef brains. First time I rolled my eyes and was disgusted. Just try it. So I did and now 40 years later our kids, husband and I fight over them. Tripe, kidney. If you cook it right it is delicious. Ox tail use to be cheap but not now. A real treat.

Fun fact: The yellow stuff inside a small bone is also called bonemarrow. It is small but quite rich and tasty.

We cook bone maarow in soup... And we called it "sop skengkel" Loved indonesian food.

In Indonesia it's called as sum sum tulang and it's very popular

Here in the philippines, we call it 'utak' and its a main ingridient in a pinoy dish called bulalo, taste reaaly good.

You can also eat it at Happenning Grill and Restaurant in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's great!

In my place, the cow bone is cook very thoroughly until you could slurp the bone marrow with a straw. Added with rich soup and you got yourself a pretty something divine . . . LOL.

In Brazil we've got bone marrow jelly in every supermarket :)
