In regards to worrying about this in close quarters like you were at the start of this map: the Chauchat is actually a close quarter LMG. It's minimum TTK's actually beat out the hellreigel up to 20m. It's actually at distance where its slow ROF becomes a factor because thats where the damage drop off start requiring more than 3 bullets. But since at its higher damage ranges its only a 3 bullet kill, its one of the better guns in the game for CQB. Yea the shotguns and the automaticos are faster of course. But those are the only guns. Within 15m It beats out the mp variants, the hellreigel, the ribeyrolls the BAR, the 1907 variants, the RSC two shot medic gun. And the autoloading guns are tied with it up to 15m. Also, it may only be 20 rounds. But its only 3-5 bullets to kill. That's a max of 4-6 kills per mag if you hit every shot. Obviously you wont, but you can still easily down 3-4 targets usually in one mag. It's not like the BAR where you have to reload the 20 round mag after every 1-2 kills because of its higher ROF and lower damage model.

you should look up servers that have 200% bullet damage think of it has hardcore but with the UI ive played on those servers before and they ARE FUN if you wanted to go for quad feed sniper its alot easier due to all snipers are more or less 1 shot kills
