This is such a typical Guitar-Player response at the end, this dude just left this girl breathless and possibly even in love with him and he feels a little bit embarrased cause he couldnt play his solos on the accoustic guitar as well as he liked to.

sebastianrockl ... .. Perhaps it ´d be a little helpful having a good acoustic fingerstyle player by John´s side ??? ´don´t know... 😶 I didn´t know John and his song at all. First, I heared "Slow dancing .." watching fingerstyle player Eiro Nareth covering John´s song, noticing by hearing how nice this song actually is. Sorry, I´m a little dissapointed now watching this interview...

@@bone9683 When John does the full band recording live, there are two guitars. They do a split of rhythm and leads... mainly John on lead. He does a bunch of fancy stuff in the middle of the verses. It's really a beautiful song. I like the album version but you should really listen to the live "Where The Light Is" version. My favorite recording of SDIABR ever! It's the version that I play myself on the guitar.

@@Lovell93...... ... thanks for your replying! Coming across John´s beautiful song from a funny completely different direction named fingerstyle player Eiro ... a small thin Russian, very shy but, for me so great in playing acoustic. First thoughting he doesn´t cover blues songs at all, one evening I watched his vid covering "Slow dancing ..." .... You couldn´t have known that! Thank you again! ( Loving guitar music I only can play some chords on acoustic )

@@bone9683 That's awesome! Hey, just keep on playing, don't give up, and you'll be killing it in no time! Guitar is hard to learn. I play a multitude of instruments. Guitar is my main instrument, and it's the one I struggled with the most to get really good. Just gotta keep at it. Fight through the frustration and keep attempting whatever you're trying to learn and eventually you'll nail it and it'll be so satisfying!

@@chrisashby32 prime in the sense that he can still play then yes. But his songwriting and melody choice is far from what it was the early to mid 2000s. Few would deny continuum is his finest work. Hearing every song from that album for the first time the day it was released was amazing.

@@hawaiianectar9 Born & Raised and Sob Rock are better albums than Continuum, no contest. I listen to them all the time, and they are a hell of a lot easier to play and sing along to too. @@erikkibler3466 What are you laughing about? They're not wrong. John Mayer is an inspiration to many players... Eric Clapton himself even said John Mayer is a master on the guitar. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is one of the biggest songs of all time. It's hard to find a player that doesn't know how to play at least some rendition of the song. I'm more of a metal guy, myself, but John is still on my daily playlist and an artist who's songs I play on guitar myself all the time.

Imagine being a professional recorder of audio, having one of the greatest guitar players of all time on your show, and then do a terrible job of recording audio.
@GeekTherapyRadio7 ай бұрын
Two things I've learned over the decades as a professional recording engineer, live sound engineer, and radio/podcast producer, host, and broadcaster. 1) I am a perfectionist when it comes to audio I produce, whether its a song or broadcast/podcast. I would have ensured this mix was warm, crispy, balanced, dynamic, and "loud" enough before digital stream processing. (This mix was boxy, poorly compressed, poorly balanced (mixed) poorly EQ'ed (for music), etc.) But also... 2) Meh...not gonna let an imperfect mix ruin my confidence in myself. Doesn't matter how long you have been a professional, you will have bad days and bad mixes from time to time. Don't beat yourself up over a bad day or "meh" mix.
