What are you talking about ? He hardly ever used his signature strats for Slow dancing ...Firstly the song was written and recorded on/with his “black 1” which was a 2004 master build by John Corona and the next most used guitar for that song is his 64. Both of these guitars played a big roll in the design of his silver sky which is why he probably almost exclusively plays them for live versions of slow dancing now.

@nsc2175 жыл бұрын
guitaristbiker That’s true. It is actually a pretty big amp. Usually he has tons of amps on stage for the big gigs
@guitaristbiker5 жыл бұрын
nsc217 for sure, i mean with modern sound equipment you just have to use what achieves the siund you want, volume is definitely not an issue anymore, many times something like a deluxe reverb is nice to use for the gravel but can lack clarity so guys will use a powerful tube amp with a lot of clean headroom daisey chained with the lower wattage amp and run it on 3-4 for a little clarity to go with the gravel, like a twin on 3-4 and a super reverb on 8 or so, i love my deluxe in smallish venues, id definite,y daisey chain it with a 60+ watt amp to add some clarity, again just depends what tone you like, thats a pretty small venue there so that deluxe style amp on its own is good to go on 5-6 id say for his style tone
@WinnieRoo11385 жыл бұрын

Okay, they obviously didn't cover this in rock school, so here's how it works. If you are the more well-known, more famous, more seen person in the group, you go "give it up for ________." This is why lead singers say that at the end of the song for the guitarist who does the solo. When you are the less famous, well-known, and obvious person you are just say the person's name or "thank you to _________ for joining us for the song." Write that down Alec.

@@kennethkoh9998 No, it is your job to entertain and perform, regardless of billing. So when you invite someone on your stage who is eons more popular than you, you posit it with the gravitas it deserves. So you don't say some sort of lame ass generic "give it up" comment. What you say is "Ladies and gentlemen, that is...(and you could even insert a bunch of fun compliments to his prowess)....John Mayer." And I would suggest further to say something to the effect of "Let's let him know how much we enjoyed that he came to play for us." Not this bullshit of "It's my show. 'Give it up for John Mayer.'"
