Simple living can be beneficial especially at this time of year. As we recharge for the busy upcoming Spring Season, take time to slow down the pace. It’s nice to take in nature and the simple pleasures of winter. Quality time, great food, a cozy home (hygge) and fresh air are amongst our favourites during the dark cold Canadian winter months.
Here’s a glimpse into a typical Saturday morning in winter in rural Suburbia.
German Pancake Recipe:
6 eggs
1 cup of milk
5 tbls of butter
1 cup of flour
Pinch of salt
1 teas of vanilla extract

Preheat over at 400.
Melt butter in cast iron pan while oven is preheating
While the butter is melting prepare the batter:
Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla,
Add in Flour, Apple Pie Spice and salt- mix until well combined.
Pour over the melted butter and bake for 25 minutes.
Serve with a dusting of icing sugar, fruit and maple sugar!
