"The thick of winter is when the greatest faith is sown." I have often heard of struggles in our lives being compared to a winter season. And I think those are often the times that try our faith the most. I remember a season of great sorrow and struggling to forgive. But I also remember finding myself continually falling before the throne of God, knowing that I could do nothing except through the grace of God. Thank you for this reminder that during the winter seasons of our lives, that is when our faith grows, just like the plant in a storm that brings much rain.

I had made some potato and parsnip soup last week. I was sitting at my desk with a bowl waiting for it to cool. I turned on a soundscape on our cable that let's you pick sounds. I picked the fireplace sound and just sat in my chair slowly sipping on the soup. I told my husband I may live in the city, but if it's God's will we will be living in the country again. He grabbed a bowl of soup and joined me. I showed him the video where your dog was laying in front of the fireplace. I said it seems her fur baby has a designated spot in front of it it sleeps. Since I can't comment on your Little House Story Corner videos, I wanted to tell you here how much my two and four year old love the Little House videos. We're currently reading through the books series together, and they ask to watch the videos every single night. No, we don't supplement any heat. Chickens are naturally insulated and there are ways to help keep their body temp up naturally like feeding corn before bed or we will give them "chicken tea" during the day.
