I learned a very slow and simple blues over 25 years ago. It started by struggling through some basic notes in a piano book but I enjoyed the sound so much, I just kept getting more and more into my own version of playing blues, and in about six months I had something fun - I still have to this day. While I enjoy Brendan's mastery of so many styles, it's not what people have complemented me with over the years. Because I enjoy my style, and play it - people enjoy it. For the person who is hearing Brendan play and feels overwhelmed at how fluid he plays - I want to JUMP UP AND DOWN and scream "his playing is impressive YES.. but yours will be great too" FIND YOUR STYLE and put it out there. People need to find a bit of themselves in their own personal version of the blues or whatever music is within you that wants to come out... and then play it If you love it... so will others.

much better than your usual lessons. I'm a fan of you but usually you play like your showing Jerry Lee Lewis a new lick, not us mere mortals. But at least you do show us NO ONE would ever show me anything when I was a kid, so I went to guitar....so I do thank you I truly do.

That was absolutely beautiful to watch, and fucking unbelievably inspiring to carry on..but..It's not for beginners !!!! It's just showing off haha. Just recently I was in a car accident, I've lost all wiggle in right hand. So, I've decided to learn piano... have you, or does any one have any advice ? I've been brought up on blues. I'll never be able to play my guitar again, but I've seen videos of one handed pianists. Banging video dude, peace and love

I think it's great. Thanks for the close up camera shots. I'm a beginner but I am also the kind of person that enjoys a good challenge because I know you can't improve unless you push your self. I've seen several of your videos at platform 88 and I must say I love them. Awesome sound. I may never become a good player but I can try. Thanks for helping us. Cheers from Southern California. 🎹✋🏻🤚🏻

I am one of these piano beginners find it so hard to play different tempos with my left and right hands. My right hand just wants to play the same speed as my left. No matter how slow I play my brain just won't allow my hands to play independently. It might have come natural to you or you have forgotten how difficult it is playing trills with your right hand while keeping a rhythm with the other Love your playing though

The most important thing is to know your blues scale by heart. You should be able to improvise on it with your right hand without even looking. Then you'll be able to start learning to play both hands at the same time

Ditto what JiaMing said - "amazing." Really great stuff. It's really starting to sink in. You are so awesome, you've probably long since forgotten how hard it is to get the two hands going in the blues. This video is at a pace where what you are doing is actually comprehensible. This is the first time that I actually begin to understand how to use the blues scale in blues and boogie woogie. This and your emphasis on the trills. This is a terrific way to learn blues and boogie woogie. Great job. This is really foundational. More slow stuff like this, PLEASE. Also, less participation by your camera person, especially mimicking the guitar. Annoying - detracts from what you are trying to show us.
