In this video, I show you my step-by-step process to recondition old, dried-out air dry clay, all while keeping summery sounds in the background!
You might hear a ventilator (not so)softly humming, the gentle splash of water (it is our cat fountain), and even a bit of me humming along to my favorite tunes🤭🤭 It’s Greece in the summertime, after all-over 31°C at night!
Here's what you can expect:
Hand Protection: I start by applying an oily hand cream to prevent white clay marks.
Warm Water Prep: I fill a bowl with warm water and immerse a clay sponge.
Clay Prep: Taking out the clay, I grab a cotton-linen fabric, moisten it in the water, and wrap the clay, letting it absorb moisture for a few minutes.
Conditioning: With water on my hands, I start conditioning the clay slowly, adding water as needed to restore its plasticity.
Don’t worry if you add too much water-it’ll just take a bit longer to dry out. Enjoy the process!
