Slow TV - Historic Narrowboat Pair boating in Real Time

Take a trip on Victoria (built in 1931) and Mercury (a horse boat built in 1926) on the Grand Union Canal near the Village of Harefield, which is based between Uxbridge and Watford west of London.
We start at Wide Water Lock, dropping down to wind, i.e. to turn the boats, and then set off heading North, upwards towards the Chiltern Hills.
There are a couple of breaks thanks to flat batteries, and filling up with water.

From people like myself who live on the canals, I spent nearly £200 British pounds for winter coal supplies recently and fully support the working boats, it also helps to keep the traditions alive! Hope this helps?

Great video Myk! I can remember Victoria being the resident ice breaker as well, when you were moored at Northolt. Some impressive boat handling skills in this video as well, taking a butty through a lock is always a challenge!

My grandad was captain of the perch and the cley for fellows morton and clayton,they were a large boating family,my mum and aunt were born on the boats in wolverhampton.
